The Queen Matilda Guest Rooms are still operating as usual and can be booked on our website or booking.com, (The Queen Matilda Country Inn and Rooms), for availability, prices and to book a room. Our warm hospitality, cosy rooms with continental breakfast are here to welcome you.

However, it is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that our restaurant/bar is now closed.

Huge thanks to everyone who supported us over the last year. It’s been amazing, and we have met some incredible people. We have not been immune to the financial challenges that are causing numerous pubs and restaurants to close, which has forced us to make this very difficult decision. It is just impossible for us to keep the bar/restaurant open. It is devastating for us not to be able to continue with our vision for the restaurant.

It is a privilege to be part of such a lovely community. Thank you.

We still have a few tables available for our Winter Warmer Supper Club on Thursday (22nd Dec) complimentary wine tasting followed by a delicious 5 course menu… £ 60 a head. A great way to start your Christmas weekend. Hope to see you then.

The evening will start with a free wine tasting for all those with tables booked for our five course feast menu. The perfect start to the Christmas weekend. 🎅🏽

A cosy festive lunch for the Avening WFH crew! Fine food and wine was enjoyed, and plenty of crackers pulled. We love Christmas!
