Our Helena - beautiful, kind and a gentle soul 🌅🙏🏼❤️

The partner of Aviemore guesthouse owner and mum-of-two Helena Ekerot has paid tribute to “the love of his life” and “best mummy any little boys could ever have wished for” ❤️

Yesterday our beautiful, lovely Helena left this life and moved forward on her next journey.
🙏🏼💔😥🌅

To say we are heartbroken is an understatement - we loved Helena so so much and we take great comfort in the messages of compassion and love from far and wide - thank you for taking some of our burden by sharing our pain.

We returned from Portugal earlier in November when Helena became unwell and was admitted to Raigmore. The diagnosis of an aggressive cancer brought the devastating news that treatment was not possible. On the 22nd of December, Helena chose to leave hospital to be cared for at home, surrounded by love and close to her boys.

We have lost a mother, my partner in life, a daughter, a daughter in-law and a gentle, beautiful soul and a dear friend to many.

Helena’s boys were the love of her life along with her strong bond with her mum and dad, (Hans & Monica).

Nothing will ever break this connection - only last week she squeezed my hand and said, “We will be okay…all of us! We are all energy and energy can never die. And so from a spiritual perspective, this energy will always exist between us, within our family, keep us together keep us strong and loved forever!“

We know that, in time, our sorrow will soften - Helena will make sure of that.

An update on arrangements for Helena’s gathering of love and friendship will be announced soon by ‘Jamie Rodgers Funeral Directors’.

Our heartfelt thanks goes to the medical teams who cared for Helena with the upmost compassion and integrity; the Gynae ward and HD unit at Raigmore, the lovely Community Care Nurses based in Aviemore and of course Marie Curie - all, the kindest of people.

You treated our family with dignity and kindness everyday and we will be forever grateful - you made the hardest of journeys just that little bit easier. 🙏🏼❤️
