We welcome lots of canine companions in our two larger cottages, and have been lucky enough to have our own poochy houseguest this week too! He has loved charging around our fully fenced fields, and flumping by the woodburner in the evening. Gorgeous!

Looking forward to the garden bursting at the seams again, now the shackles of Winter are cast aside. Pots looking good ...

Looking forward to the garden bursting at the seams again, now the shackles of Winter are cast aside. Pots looking good ahead of guests checking in this weekend. Muscari abundant, lavender trimmed, parsley and briza going mad already. Looking forward to scenes like this pic soon….granny’s bonnets, alchemilla, Harlow Carr rose, ceanothus and acer. Meantime, seedlings already potted on in the greenhouse. Looking forward to cutting blooms and filling vases for our lovely guests soon!!

The best kind of October day for changeover today. Two more lovely parties coming for a week with us, and the cleaning A team (our only team 😍) are doing what they do best, in advance of arrivals. This week has felt like a distinct transition into autumn. The sap may be falling, but these fun guys (shaggy inkcaps, happy to be corrected, as this stuff is important!) have just popped up to welcome the change of seasons. Each time we think things are going over, or coming to an end, some other spectacle appears. The asters are looking spectacular in the garden, and our sedum are fat and deep in colour. Pics to come 🥰
