A quiet moment in the gardens at Hartwell House.

Captured by our Maintenance Team, this honey bee can be seen gathering nectar from the delicate blooms of borage, a plant renowned for its value to pollinators. Often referred to as the “bee plant”, borage provides an abundant source of nectar throughout the summer months, supporting the rich biodiversity found across our historic grounds.

These small yet vital visitors play an essential role in maintaining the health of our gardens, and it is always a pleasure to witness nature thriving within the estate.
