In September we welcomed one of our most adventurous guests to ValeView. They drove 4000km on their motorbike from Sweden to stay with us - clearly word has spread north about what ValeView has to offer!

Our two new 'Columbian Blacktail' chickens have got the hang of laying an egg every day now - thank goodness - just in time for our summer holiday rush of guests at ValeView. Currently their eggs may be smaller than our experienced layers but they are perfect for poached eggs - I know because I had one this morning!

Our youngest ever guests have just arrived at ValeView. Mum is currently inspecting the outside accommodation. What do ducks eat for breakfast?

It is peak cowslip time at ValeView and amazingly all of these plants in our wildflower meadow have self sown from a single plant over the last 10 years - nature is truly amazing!

The flower beds at ValeView are bursting with colour in the late afternoon sunshine. Sadly, our guests this evening won't be arriving until after dark :( - but happily the forecast is for plenty of sun again tomorrow, in which to appreciate the floral display.

As January draws to a close, the Christmas festivities and New Year resolutions are just distant memories, but at least at ValeView we already have lots of reservations to look forward to in 2026 - bring on the guests!

At ValeView our Christmas Day guests have now departed. The fire has been lit and we are settling in for a day of movie watching / chocolate eating / sofa snoozing - hope your Boxing Day will be just as relaxing!

Our chillies are clearly starting to feel festive, as at last they are turning red to welcome the 1st of December tomorrow. However, we haven't quite worked out how to include them in the ValeView breakfast menu - any suggestions much appreciated.
