October half-term is here, and Aylsham has plenty to keep the whole family busy.

Kids go free on the Bure Valley Railway over half-term, a great excuse for a trip through the Norfolk countryside by steam.

At Redwings, the Pony Pumpkin Hunt invites children to find the pumpkins and meet the rescued residents along the way. It runs 24–26 and 30–31 October and costs £5 per child.

Aylsham Sports Hub is running half-term holiday activities for kids, and on Saturday morning the Town Hall hosts Healthy Town from 10am to 1pm.

There’s plenty going on in Aylsham before the weekend even begins.

On Thursday 22 October, Urban Clay’s Autumn Lantern Workshop is a chance to make your own lantern for the season. In the evening, Aylsham Local History Society’s lecture series continues at the Town Hall with The Languages of Norwich and Norfolk.

On Friday 23 October, M’s of Aylsham is holding a Wear It Pink fundraising day for Breast Cancer Now, with raffles, prizes, pink cocktails and live music from Kieran to finish the evening.

Or head to the Town Hall for Aylsham Picture House’s screening of Thelma & Louise. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start, tickets are £5, and the visiting mixologists will be serving themed cocktails.
