Yesterday we enjoyed an evening cruise on the Waverley, Britain's last working paddle steamer, from Ayr Harbour over to Pladda to the south of the Isle of Arran, then up the Arran coastline and around the Holy Isle, before returning to Ayr before sunset. We even saw a pod of dolphins diving in Whiting Bay

A great place to spend a day, exploring the gardens, woodlands, caves, coastal path and of course the magnificent castle

Looking for a great value day out this summer?

We’re pleased to be taking part in the Great British Summer Savings scheme, with a temporary 15% VAT reduction on admission tickets from 25 June to 1 September.

Whether you’re planning a family day out, meeting friends for a wander, or looking for your next Scottish adventure, we’d love to welcome you.

And if you’re already a National Trust for Scotland member, you’ll continue to enjoy free entry and can also benefit from the scheme’s savings on children’s meals in our cafés.

We are excited that The Waverley is coming back to Ayr again this summer with lots of excursions departing from the port of Ayr.
We still have a few rooms available on some of these dates if you are planning one of these excursions...check the website for availability, and remember, always book direct for the best deals, cutting out the commission you otherwise pay...

Today. We'd like to introduce Maya, our newest member of the team. Maya just joined us about a month ago and will be working with us over the summer before she starts university in September, waitressing two mornings a week and helping with holiday cover. She has already proved a great help to us.
