The clouds are finally lifting! And to top it off, I’m pleased to be able to announce that we have a rarely available seasonal pitch free and ready for occupancy. Photos below.

We also have a beautiful Lunar caravan with a fixed bed for sale that can come with the pitch by separate negotiation. Photos available on request.

🎠Meet the team- I drew the short straw to go next…

I realise a lot of people may know who I am, but, there’s probably a lot of people who don’t, so here’s a bit about me…

My name is Charley and I took over J&J Catering from my mum, Julie, after completing catering college. We do a lot of functions, weddings, funerals and parties. During lockdown, like many businesses this dried up to nothing. To keep myself busy (and earning a bit of money) I started baking and selling takeaway cream teas from my mums front door to locals and walkers. People loved it, and as the restrictions eased people then started to also enjoy mums garden too. So during 2021, we took the leap to convert one of the barns into a cafe- The Rocking Horse. We opened Easter 2022… and the rest was history!

I’ve absolutely loved having a cafe. In truth, it’s been my dream since college, which has now turned into reality. In a short space of time I’ve already been lucky to have been nominated and win awards too. But, none of this would have been possible without my family, the team, and of course my customers.

Away from the cafe, you’ll find me walking or running on the quantocks with my collie, Nessie and boyfriend Rob. I also still dabble a bit with the horses every now and then!

I’m going to cut it here, but, I hope this shares a bit of the journey I’ve been on. I’m still learning and we’re not perfect- I love hearing from my customers and if there’s any feedback- good or bad- please reach out to me.

Our ‘Moongazer’ clear-roofed bell tent is up and running in the touring paddock next to the facilities of the BBQ hut. Set up with nothing but camp beds and a pioneer stove, it’s a great option if you’re on a budget or liked the look of our Stargazer bell tent but wanted to camp versus glamp.
