It’s time!! 🎄🥃🔥🥾

Well, not at my house, obviously, as I’m heading for an essay breakdown on insulin resistance and GLUT4 receptors 🫠 🧑‍🎓🤓 but give me 9 days and I’ll be there 🥂

In the meantime, we have some midweek free this month so if you need to unbuckle for a few days, to breathe easy, to take in some spectacular walks, to be mesmerised by flames, to catch a pheasant on a wander whilst enjoying your morning coffee, we have totally got you.

I’m about to bottle up the sloe gin too 🥾🍂 Pop me a message to swerve the big platform guns.

This morning’s bakes fresh out of the oven 🤸

This bread is so nutritious and it tastes the bomb. We use stoneground and botanical blend PLUS lots of delicious seeds - pumpkin, sunflower, sesame and flax. And just the wild yeasts of Sheffield to give it some ooomph 💨

Packed with protein, fibre, all your B vitamins as well as zinc and magnesium, this is GOOD FOR YOU bread!

And if you are staying with us then this is what awaits you along with salted butter from Brittany, my 12-plant granola, honey and Greek yoghurt.

Have you stayed with us? I’d love to know (I think 🙈) if you’ve enjoyed Bene’s bread (he does have a real job as well as being Snaptin’s resident baker 🤣).

And if you haven’t stayed before, come and try the good stuff! We have a few mid-week dates left between now and Christmas and just one weekend.

We are chuffed and puffed to find out that we are now in the top 1% of homes listed on Airbnb. Whoop!!

It’s truly lovely recognition because it’s based on the experiences of our guests, which is what it’s all about.

We wanted Snaptin to be somewhere you could just land and feel at home. Where you could close the laptop, pack your walking boots and forget about everything for a few days. Where you could get the fire going, light a few candles, have a soak in the tub. Try a local brew, be that beer, gin or whisky (I know, isn’t the Peak District magic) or a gorgeous wine from further afield.

We wanted it to look effortless (and imperfect, you know me) but in truth there’s a lot going on and it’s very much a family affair - no one escapes. So it means the world to us that Snaptin is loved and enjoyed. Thank you so much! You are all the absolute best 😘

Our favourite time of year in the peaks. The heather is out, it’s a bit sunny, a bit chilly (yes, a bit rainy but we won’t mention that one, shall we) and the views are a bit special.

Popped into for a swifty on our way back from Estha’s checkup at Bakewell vets. Delicious glass of rose and a pint for Mr D, and such a lovely welcome we’ve booked for lunch on Sunday. Thanks Kelly.

I’m back from the lands of Gouda and Schinken! Huge thanks to my wonderful sister (and her best friend) for keeping the Snappers wheels so well-oiled I don’t think I’m needed anymore 😂 She’s the absolute bestest! 😘

And this nostalgic photo of the two of us in Vienna at Christmas several years ago serves as a little reminder that we have only TWO weekends free between now and the big jolly man’s visit ✨ so if you fancy a bit of looking after, a lot of fresh air, heck, we can even throw in a blister or two, you know what to do.

One of the reasons we chose SnapTin was for the outside: traffic free, open gardens, adjacent to a little wood, parking, PARKING!! (IYKYK).

Bakewell is such a beautiful little town but by gum it’s busy. We are just a five minute walk down the lane into town but you would never know it when sitting outside enjoying your morning coffee.

I love that we are traffic free but not silent - lots of birds and neighbours to say good morning to, plants being watered. It’s lovely!

We have a little bit of summer availability and we would love to welcome you to our little patch of loveliness out here in the beautiful Peak District. Walks from the door and a brilliant choice of eateries and hostelries just a stroll away.

Thank you!!!

We are heading to the end of our fourth year of Snappers and you have kept us so busy during that whole time. How bonkers is that?🙏🏼

We’ve learnt so much, but in truth have not changed a great deal. Everything still looks pretty much the same for a start, not bad going when we live in a world where we are supposed to get bigger, faster, cheaper, more efficient. We are so not efficient!!

I’m proud that we aren’t - there would be no almond oil on the floors or candle top ups, lovely pantry items, no homemade bath salts or granola, no milk fresh from the farm gate the morning you arrive, or locally roasted coffee. Yes, I could do it cheaper, but then I would have to make it my business not to work with small and independent makers and businesses all of whom I cherish and value.

We could be bigger but I like being small: Ambition average, experience I hope a bit better.

So thank you so much for keeping our little business going, for liking, sharing, for staying and championing us. You are the absolute bestest!

Thank you too to the best sister I’ve ever had you are relentless, cheerful and indefatigable and keep me and Snappers going no matter what. I loves yoooo more than wine! (but pleeease no more History Society updates on that tiny little village our ENTIRE family grew up in 🎓).
