Tagg Cottage sleeps 4 people and is one of six holiday homes in a converted stone barn on a working farm. It features a well-equipped open-plan kitchen with a dining area and cozy lounge. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and lovely countryside views. It is dog friendly and has a communal enclosed garden just outside, also ideal for barbecues and outdoor relaxation.

Following the huge success of last year, which saw Mercatum named in the UK press as one of the top ten Christmas markets in the country, this year’s event promises to be bigger, better and more captivating than ever, taking place over a 6-week period, from 11th November – 20th December.

As in previous years, Mercatum 2026 will take place in the beautifully decorated rooms, galleries and courtyard of Medieval Haddon. Over 750 talented artisans and makers will showcase their work over six weeks, with artisans changing each week, creating a luxurious and unique Christmas shopping experience. You’ll find a diverse range of crafts, including ceramics, art, chocolates, jewellery, candles, artisan stationery, perfumes, and much more, both inside and outside the Hall, all set against a truly festive backdrop.

As you explore medieval Haddon Hall, you’ll discover magnificent Christmas trees, twinkling lights, live music, warming food and drink, and a truly magical atmosphere that has made Mercatum a highlight of the festive calendar.

🎄Tickets are available for:
• Morning sessions (9.15am – 12.45pm)
• Afternoon sessions (1.00pm – 4.30pm)
• Green Travel tickets (arrival any time before 3.45pm, travelling by bus, bike or on foot – you are welcome to stay all day!)
• NEW Twilight tickets (3.00pm – 4.30pm), perfect for experiencing Mercatum as dusk falls and the Hall sparkles with festive lights.

Mercatum will run Wednesday to Sunday throughout the festive season (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) and tickets are expected to sell quickly so pre-booking is essential.

We have lots of dressing of the wells happening locally right now - including one in Monyash.
Well Dressing is an ancient rural English custom, primarily practiced in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, where local communities decorate wells, springs, and water sources with intricate, temporary mosaics made entirely from natural materials like flower petals, leaves, seeds, and coffee beans. If you're visiting this May - September make sure you go and take a look at some of the beautiful works of art.

We have availability at the beautiful Endmoor Farmhouse for 3 nights on Friday 29th May - Monday 1st June. So if your looking for a family or group weekend break this half term then look no further.

Endmoor House sleeps 8 people, with 2 double en-suite bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms (1 en-suite and 1 separate bathroom) It also has a private garden/terrace with private ample parking.
