One of my favourite dishes to make, and certainly a popular one, inspired by a dish i enjoyed in many establishments on a visit to Iceland, Fiskisúpa.
This is my version, Hebridean inspired fish stew!
I can never replicate the amazing Icelandic recipe....... yet 😋

A proud moment for our team at Salar

I’m honoured to have spent such a special day in Inverness, to be invited to join the judging panel at the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards 2026 was truly amazing.

Being part of these awards over the past 10 years as a past winner with Salar Smokehouse makes it feel even more special.
What started as a passion and a dream has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of, and today truly felt like a pinnacle in that journey.

I’m proud to have been included in celebrating the incredible talent, passion, and dedication that makes our food and drink community across the Highlands and Islands so special.

Due to staff illness we will unfortunately be closed tonight.

We will however be open as usual at 0900 tomorrow morning for hearty breakfasts, and take away breakfast rolls, teas, and coffees. 🥓🍳☕🫖

Lunch is available to eat in or takeaway from 1200 - 1400, so why not pop in and see what the specials of the day are. 🍟🥗🍔

Dinner is available to eat in or takeway from 1700. 🍽🥂

It is advisable to book your table in advance to avoid dissapointment.

Our Burns night is now fully booked! Our apologies if you missed a slot but demand was high, our night will now be concluded with live music from Kevin Fraser, playing hits from the 70s, 80s and more! A great night ahead 🙂

Chicken Pakora, onion bhajis and now we are offering pre topped pizzas, ready for you to take home and cook at your own convenience.

Join us at Charlie's for a celebration of Burns.
Our annual and popular traditional burns night is on Saturday 24th January this year.

Help us celebrate with piping, dancing and maybe some singing! There might be a wee dram or two to be had too.

If you don't fancy the driving, get in touch and we will do a room deal for the night too .....
