Since 1914, the grounds that are a part of Red Squirrel Campsite have been used for camping. For well over a century campers have been coming to visit the highlands
to experience nature at its finest! Red Squirrel campsite was founded by Hugh MacColl and has been thriving ever since. We are very pleased to be able to offer camping in such a fabulous area. Our aim is to have people enjoy Glencoe and surrounding areas.

Red Squirrel action again!
This is really great news that the Reds are back. Plenty of hazel nut trees on site to keep them fed. This little one was foraging and digging them in the ground. Very excited to have them here.
If you see them, please do not feel them, and please don’t let your dogs chase them 🙏🏻🐿️

We decided to use Who Gives A Crap toilet paper as it was great for the environment,and our septic tank & field. We order in bulk so we have less shipping and it is nice for the guests tushies.
We would very much appreciate that guests do not take the rolls . My team have reported a toilet paper heist of nearly 90rolls in 2 days.
It’s not right, not fair and costs us money, then that makes other things cost money like camping fees! So please buy your own, or bring your own TP. If you like WGAC toilet paper you can buy that too.

A return guest to the Red Squirrel, I believe it’s a Spotted Flycatcher ( critically in decline) so very happy she’s had 3 live babies( one has passed away )
She built the nest last year in the same flower pot. Pretty much on the same day - 9th of July.
