Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
I telled you last week aboot Pedro pigeon, who suddensly was renamed Perdita after Daddy had spokens to her (not his) owner. Anyhoo she left this week and we are all full of hopefulness that she gets home to Irelandland but she hasn’t yet. I miss her.
Some fatty, guess who, was in big trouble for eating a weeks supply of treats in one day. Woopsie. As punishment, there were extra walkies this week to burn some calories. Naughty Daddy! (You thought it was me, didn’t you?)
Anyhoo, our guestses this week have had treats too. There are lots of baby birds in the garden and Mummy and Daddy have been explainering what they all are.
They are espeshully happiful to see two new regular visitors, bullfinches and greenfinches. The mostful of them though are my faverits, the ickle siskins. This morning Daddy counted thirtynine of them. He is always counting things. We thinks he has sumfing called arithmomania. Shame he can’t count calories!
Anyhoo see yous next week. I have extra walkies to take Daddy on.

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
This week has mainly been about looking after the guestses who have come from Americaland, Franceland, Germanyland and Englandland who have all been loverly, but the one who has stayed the longest and is still here is from Northern Irelandland and he hadn’t even booked.
We have called him Pedro, and he is a racing pigeon who blew in from a race from Wales looking lost last Sunday. His first day he spent just sitting in the middle of our garden snoozing. He didn’t even wake up when we walked past for my walk. Daddy said that if he stayed there the Sparrowhawk might have him for dinner, which I thinked would have been very generous gesture by Sparrowhawk.
Anyhoo Pedro didn’t go to dinner and the next day he started eating the food that was out for the other birdses and began to look much better. Since then, he has been snoozin and eatin and sitin on the roof.
He doesn’t seem to want to make the fly home. It is 135 miles as the crow flies, and we assume Pedro would go the same way.
I don’t blame him. The weather has not been very nice for flying this week. His owner thinks he is waiting for a nice day. He won’t have long to wait cos it is nearly always sunshiney here (tee hee hee, Mutley style)
Anyhoo see yous next week.

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
So, how many of you guessded that I went on my holibobs to Berneray in the Outer Hebrides? Well done to those that did. Extra sausages for you.
It is Mummy and Daddy’s happy place. My happy place is simply where my famalam and besties are. Daddy has been going there for over 40 years and Mummy since she was a baby over 65 years ago (Methinks she has been fibbin about her age)
Anyhoo, we went on a ferry to Lochmaddy, which is where my name came from because Loch nam Madadh is the Loch of the hounds and I am a hound.
There are fandabidoze beaches on Berneray and I loved watching the silly woolybacks and moomoos but I wasn’t allowed to play with them.
As well as the big ferry we went on an ickle boat which was a bit scarey for me but the famalam was very happy to see Golden beagles, White tailed sea beagles, otterers, seals, swimming deers and lots of other wildlife.
I hopes that you get to go to Berneray one day. It is the most beatifullest place. I shall serpently be going back. It is quite a long way though sos you might want to stay at Ardno House on the way. (Had to get that in. See what I did there?)
Here are some more piccies of my holibobs

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
We didn’t tell you last week, because Mummy said we shouldn’t be telling peoples that we are away in case the house gets pinched by someone who knows we are away. (It didn’t stop them taking the tellingbonebox away though).
Anyhoo. I have just been on my holibobs. We is all quite exhausted now so I will tells you all about it next week but the piccies are a taster of what I will be tellings you about. Hope you like them. Can you guess where we wents.

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
We are all very sadful this week.
You should sit down for this news.
Someone has KIDNAPPED our red tellingbone box!!
I am a K9 (though sometimes mummy says I am more like a K4.5) The red box was a K6 which made it very old. But we like old things. I like Daddy. He is the oldest thing I know now the box is gone. It is 8 feet 3 inches tall, and weighs 108 stones, so goodness knows how they managed to pinch it without anybody noticing.

It had been there a long time and was how we told peoples where we were. We can hardly say “Turn left just before where the red tellingbone box used to be”, can we?
During the pandemonium in 2020 a man in a big van came and painted it shiny and lots of peoples liked taking piccies of it.
It was kidnapped on the same day we rememberers the Red Fox who was murdered on the hill behind us on 14th May 1752 which was featured in a book called Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevensomething. That is too much coincidentalism methinks Perhaps it is a serial crime. Red Fox, Red Box? Where will they strike next?

Anyhoo we hope the tellingboneboxnapper gets in touch soon with their ransom demand. After alls, we knows they have a tellingbone to call us. As long as they don’t demand some of my sausages for its return.
R.I.P Red Box. We loved you.
Anyhoo see yous next week, with a happier story I hope.

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
We did sumfin really excitingful this week.
As you might remember Mummy has loved ferries since she was a puppy.
Speshully the one that used to cross where the bridge is now in Ballabados (well it has been very sunny this week)

Anyhoo she was disappointedful when the little old ferry did not come back last year to celebrate the bridge’s 50th birthday, so as a speshul treat Daddy took us to Glenelg where the ferry is now to make her happyful (he likes her to be happyful).

If you are ever that way and want to take a bonnie boat over the sea to Skye it is a fabby drive over the hill to Glenelg. Mummy remembers doing it with her mummy driving before there were any barriers and it was a rough track. Her mummy was having tartan fits (or fartan t**s as she sumtimes said by mistake) because she was scared.

Her mummy came from a prettyful island called Berneray, and there are some old barracks at Glenelg called Bernera barracks. Mummy’s mummy used to tell her that it was called that cos the man in charge there in 1715 ish was in love with a girl from Berneray.

We had some guestses who came from a place in Pennsylvania, USA called Mars. (I guess the lady was born in Venus, Texas). Anyhoo Mummy told these Martians that they should go to Glenelg because it is twinned with Mars. They looked at her as if she were daftful. She is, but she was right (she always is).

Anyhoo we went on the ferry and guess what? One of the crew is a doggo and when it had finished doing the ropes he came to say halloo.

It was a wonderfulful day. I loved it and you would too.

Anyhoo three see yous next week

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .
Apparuntly today is also Star Wars Day, so May the fourth be with you.
And did you know that sheepdoggos are not allowed to work today either because it is a ban collie day.
I might pretend to be a collie today so that I don’t have to work either, though come to think of it I haven’t worked much lately on any day.

There are some loverly yellow flowerses growing on the psychopath. They are called gorse, or whins, and one of them got me in daddy’s bad books last week. I make him laff sumtimes by wrapping my lead round a tree or lamppost, so I did a circle round a gorse bush, but he didn’t laff.
In fact, he came out with a load of words that I hadn’t heard before and I don’t fink are even in the dickshunery. You sees, the gorse is very spikey and it took a while to untangle me. The disgruntlement was

Anyhoo it has been a bootiful week. We are full in May and June, but if you fancy a visit in July or August let us know.

Halloo folkses. Maddy here, cos it’s .

There’s a lot of racin going on this week. Yesterday there were lots of peoples on the telebox going for a run. Appalently, they were runnin 26 miles. How far? How strange! I missed my run today. That makes nearly seven years in a row. I might try a maruthan today though. Just kidding! I’m on my third sausage.
Anyhoo the oak tree is racin the ash tree to see who has leaves first and we will know what kind of summer we will have (Oak before ash we’re in for a splash. Ash before oak, we’re in for a soak) It is a very speshul oak tree cos it was planted as an acorn when my littler sister was at primary school. It is now bigger than her.
The lickle boy squiggles are racin after the ickle girl squiggles. They never seem to catch them, so I donts know what happens if they do.
And the sparryhawk chases the ickle birds. Most timesees it misses but sometimes it catches and eats one of them. Ugh! They must be very hungryful to eat all those feathers. I once found a feather and picked it up in my mouth and f f f f f f f f f it got stuck to my lipses and I couldn’t drop it.
The weather has been bootiful here in Ballabados this week,so I did some sunbathin and pinet came out durin the day. And there has been no need for guestses to moan about the rain.
I always say, you can change your plansses, you can change your clothses but you can’t change the weather so stop wurryin about it. Rain fills the prettiful waterfalls and makes the rainbows. Just looks for the beatyfulness in what is on offer.
Anyhoo see yous next week
