It is always exciting to hang new art at Clippie Lodge. The latest selection, courtesy of Ballater Gallery, is beautiful and diverse. It reflects a small selection of the Scottish artists on offer Ballater Gallery.
Two gorgeous pieces of Stanley Bird's work, first time at Clippie Lodge, sit perfectly above the bar - 'Blackbird & Mistletoe' sits alongside 'Blue Boy'.
A beautiful example of Ruth Corbett's work, also a first for Clippie Lodge - 'Goldfinches in the Wild Garden'.
One of my favourite artists - David Smith RSW - 'Greenvoe Macduff'.
A rich deeply coloured example of Marion Drummonds work is above one of sofas - 'Sunflowers'.
Alongside Marion Drummonds Sunflowers is James Macdonald's impressive 'Bookstack'.
In the light filled corridor is a stunner by Anne Skinner - 'Two Swimmers, Isle of Ghiga'.

Our visitors this week are gorgeous golden girls (11yrs old!). Tilly & Rosie are sisters, golden doodles and full of fun. They decided they rather liked the grass Balmoral Castle to roll around on after their photoshoot.Looks like they found a private island on Loch Muick. They had wonderful first visit to Ballater, looking forward to their return.

Something new for our guest welcome hamper, Ballater Honey. The bees have been busy over the Ballater Bridge making this gorgeous honey. We do our best to source local produce, this delicious honey is harvested from hives 10 mins from Clippie Lodge.

So lovely to see Roux & Jax again at Clippie Lodge. What a week they had. Raced up Craigendarroch, walked at Linn of Dee, climbed Lochnagar, admired Braemar Castle, saw a red squirrel and cooled off in the river while a stag ate lunch nearby. They really made the most of their visit. Looking forward to the next time.

A little change of art today at Clippie Lodge. This gorgeous Joe Hargan original, framed, oil on canvas is titled Little Fish. Measuring 34 x34 inches/86.4cm x 86.4cm. It is the perfect partner for Suffering Diva by Stuart Luke Gatherer, framed, oil on canvas. Slightly larger at 36 x 48 inches/91.4cm x 191.9cm. Both paintings available through The Ballater Gallery. When you are an Eggtrepreneur but you've had to go to school before your stock arrives.....just about to drive off when Dad came to the rescue and ran down to the coop, leaving us to admire the amazing view and steer well clear of the 4 legged car alarm! Mum washed and boxed these very fresh eggs while we got to meet Lachlans gorgeous smiley little sister. The best way to buy your supper, Lachlans scrambled eggs on toast.
