Dunnaglea sea arch 💚

"Watching the descent of Venus and Jupiter". This is an image captured three years ago with me standing on Dunnaglea sea arch at Ballintoy. Venus is to my right just above the arch with Jupiter above left. I have seen a couple of photographers attempt this one but not standing in the same spot as myself but rather in the middle just above the arch. Where I am standing is a little more difficult and harder to stand up as it is pretty narrow at the top so you either have to be slightly mad, brave or stupid to attempt it! One thing I don't do is take stupid risks while taking photographs either during the day or the night but calculated ones where I have practised it many times to minimise the risks. So I wonder if we will see a similar image again? yes probably but maybe not from me! I was also asked by someone recently what the difference was between Astrophotography and Astro landscape photography? When you take photographs of the night sky and include the landscape then this is Astro landscape photography, but if you take photographs of just the night sky to include planets, stars and other celestial objects then this is Astrophotography. Ok so there's not much difference and it doesn't really matter as some photographers just call it astrophotography which is fine but as a landscape photographer I prefer to call it landscape astrophotography if the landscape is included in the shot! www.glennmilesphotography.com
