Meet Hildegard of Bingen: a 12th-century nun whose life reached far beyond the convent walls.

She wrote about plants and healing, composed music, challenged church leaders, toured in her 60s, and even invented her own language and alphabet. 🌿

On Sunday 18 October, storyteller-musicians Adderstone brings her extraordinary story to Yarn with HILDEGARDeners through a storytelling cabaret weaving their own songs with Hildegard’s music.

Cath and Gemma guide us through her world with harmonies, storytelling, quizzes and plenty of good craic.

They'll also have one jar of fire c***r, made with a recipe attributed to Hildegard, up for grabs that night. 🌶️

Join us for a cosy women’s gathering inspired by Samhain: an evening of spiced cacao, seasonal poetry, journalling, gentle movement and a sound bath by candlelight.

Maria Mooney Health will guide the journalling and movement, Alena Walker will read a poem and offer Walnut flower essence drops to mark the changing season, and Debbie from Soulful Touch will lead us into a lie-down sound bath.

Come as you are, get comfortable and make space to reflect on the changing season.

Join flower farmer for a day of natural dyeing, hand stitching and the history of women’s pockets.

Pockets have long been entwined with women’s freedom. Historically, pocket bags kept small knives and coins close, alongside love notes, secrets and scraps of gossip. They were always more than a few pieces of cloth.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to dye cotton and linen with flowers grown in Roisin’s Northumberland garden, then quilt and stitch our own pocket bags inspired by 17th-century designs.

All materials, lunch, tea and coffee are included.

Join senior yoga and meditation teacher for one of two workshops.

🧘‍♀️ Welcome to Yoga, 10.30 am–12 pm

A gentle introduction to movement, breath and the quieter side of yoga. No experience needed.

🌊The Elemental Series: Water, 2–4.30 pm

An afternoon of movement, breathwork, meditation and reflective journaling, guided by the qualities of water.

Come along to one workshop or make a day of it with both.
