Controversial opinion: water rides aren't always advised in Orlando!!

Honeymoon Series- 17th May

This day involved: 🌊 getting absolutely drenched in the water rides when it was 100% not warm enough to dry off after... 🛏 going back to the hotel to fully change clothes, via (I will be accepting zero judgement for how many we ate between us!) Then a super chill evening on Universal City walk, playing crazy golf and watching Deadpool 2 at the cinema

One of my favourite things about Orlando holidays is that they don't have to be go-go-go all the time. There's absolutely nothing wrong with planning a pool day or 3 throughout your trip. Some of the best memories are the random little moments in between.

Whether you're a planner or not, I've done Orlando enough times to know how to take the pressure off you so you can focus on the million other things that fall to mums when it comes to holiday planning! My DMs are always open!

We decided to do all 4 Disney parks in just 2 days... which in hindsight was slightly unhinged...

Honeymoon Series - 16th May

First stop: EPCOT, arguably the most underrated Disney park. We were lucky enough to be there during the annual Flower & Garden festival, making the festivals 25th anniversary with nearly 100 character topiaries. We didn't "drink around the world" this time, but it's on my list for a future trip 🤭

Next, Hollywood Studios for the evening, including plenty of rides on the Rock'n'Rollercoaster Starring Aerosmith - for what turned out to be the last time as this year it has been overhauled and transformed into Rock'n'Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets. We ended the day in the second best way to end a Disney Day - Fantasmic 🎆

This trip reminded me that you don't necessarily need 2 weeks in Orlando to make incredible memories, sometimes even a few days done properly can feel completely magical

Honeymoon series - 15th May
Our first full day in Orlando was silent at Universal Studios... and this trip was the first time I'd ever stayed on-site at Universal instead of Disney, International Drive or a villa.

This day included: ⚡️Our first ride on Escape from Gringotts 🍺 Butterbeer in Diagon Alley 🎸 dinner in Hard Rock Cafe... and two very exhausted honeymooners with aching feet!

One thing I always say now after visiting Orlando so many times - there's no one-size-fits-all way to do it. Some families live the flexibility of a villa. Some want the convenience of staying on-site. Some want the Disney bubble (🙋‍♀️ guilty). Some want to be closer to Universal.

8 years ago this week, after the wedding of our dreams, we jetted off on the honeymoon of a lifetime

Orlando > Disney > Universal > Miami > TWO Caribbean cruises > Puerto Rico... still one of the best planned trips we've ever done and some of my favourite travel memories ever.

Over the next few weeks I'm going to share more about this trip - the highlights, funny moments, things we'd do differently, and why this style of multi-centre travel still has my heart all these years later.
