The Hidey Hoose is an exceptionally charming holiday home, finished to an impressively high standard. The owners have clearly gone above and beyond with the décor and facilities. The large screen TV was perfect for unwinding with our favourite shows, and the TV above the bed — on a remote‑controlled lowering bracket — was a brilliant touch. The bed itself was incredibly comfortable, making it genuinely difficult to get up in the mornings.
The kitchen and its equipment were outstanding, easily one of the best we’ve experienced in any holiday let. Evenings by the log‑burning fire, glass of wine in hand, watching the flames flicker, were wonderfully relaxing. The outdoor space was just as impressive: a secure, fully enclosed garden ideal for our golden retriever, Bruce, and a raised platform with a large hot tub that we enjoyed in all weather. Sitting in the hot tub while watching the birds at the feeding stations was a real highlight.
The location is peaceful and relaxing — perfect for switching off — yet close enough to local walks and amenities to keep everything convenient. It made an ideal base for exploring during the day and returning to comfort in the evenings. The Market Arms pub is well worth a visit; the food was excellent and the staff were genuinely lovely.
Overall, the Hidey Hoose is exceptional. Luxurious yet homely, beautifully thought out, and a place we truly didn’t want to leave. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special getaway.
