So we headed to Ogwen Bank in Bethesda, just 15 mins from Penhower Bach. It’s a lovely spot for a picnic, river walk and some wild swimming. We even spotted a huge Heron there today too, thankfully Rubble didn’t!

We had a decked patio built into Penhower Bach, so you can chill outside, breakfast al fresco or grab a vino and watch the sun go down over the mountains. And the best bit? It has a roofed section as well. In case it rains. Which it sometimes does in Wales…

North Wales is jam packed with high tempo adrenaline activities, big mountains to climb and castles galore. But in-between those, you just can’t beat a dog walk on a sunny evening. This is Beaumaris, just 20 minutes from Penhower Bach. It’s lovely 💜

My peace was ruined 5 minutes later when Rubble decided to do a sprint session up and down the beach after the birds, scattering them in all directions. I had to apologise to the couple who had been quietly birdwatching until that point. You can’t have it all eh? 🤦🏼‍♀️

We’re always happy to share our favourite restaurant recommendations because we know that eating out is a massive part of a trip away. So we only recommend the places we’ve tried and love ourselves!

does a yummy brunch and lunch. There isn’t a huge amount in Bangor town centre, sadly it’s one of those high streets that is struggling to survive. But tucked away in the middle of town is this absolute gem. Try it, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Spring vibes 🌱🌼🌷

Blue skies 🙌🏻🌤️🩵

We’re so close to Spring! Lambs are appearing in the fields, blue skies are popping through and there are yellow daffodils springing up everywhere! Can you tell how much I love Spring?!

Cold, wet, miserable? ❌

How about fresh, invigorating and peaceful? ✅

Let’s face it. North Wales is not a year-round sun spot! But with the right clothing (and perspective!) it’s still a fab place to visit through the off-season. This beach forms part of the Anglesey coastal path, just south of Britannia Bridge.

The guy in the background is Lord Nelson. He mapped the Menai Strait, a very treacherous body of water. Apparently it is said that if you can sail the Menai Strait, you can sail anywhere!

This spot is just 10 minutes from Penhower Bach.

Not only do I recommend this walk, I also love my parka from - still dry and warm underneath!
