The first buds unfurl, birdsong greets the morning before breakfast, and the countryside shifts a little more each day. ✨

On 1st March the light lingers just that bit longer... sunrise around 6:30 am, sunset close to ~5:45 pm.

By mid-March it’s sunrise 6:10 am, sunset around 6 pm.

By the end of March, evenings stretch past 7 pm, and suddenly, still light at 6 pm feels like a proper win.

After-work walks don’t feel rushed. Kids linger outdoors. Dogs get an extra lap around the fields.

Those gentle, longer evenings remind you it’s okay to slow down and watch the season unfold.

It starts with “we really should book something”… then three weeks later the group chat finally agrees on a date 😅

That’s your sign.

From Saturday 14th to Saturday 21st February 2026, it is National Nest Box Week, a time when birds begin pairing up and feeding more actively as spring approaches. 🐦

Around Millside, guests often spot redwings and fieldfare moving through hedgerows, feeding on berries in bushes and trees.

Goldfinches, starlings, robins, swans and blue t**s are a familiar sight, while gardens attract house sparrows, great t**s, blackbirds and woodpigeons.

If you are lucky, you may even see a sparrowhawk passing through, keeping the smaller birds alert.

It is the kind of wildlife you do not need binoculars for. Just slow down on a walk or watch quietly from your cabin window with a warm drink in hand 🍃✨

We have a small, peaceful caravan site at Mill Farm, perfect for a relaxed stopover or a quiet countryside escape. 🚐🌾

We are a certificated location with the Caravan and Motorhome Club, offering just 5 pitches, so it never feels crowded. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is covered:

✔️ Water access
✔️ Septic emptying point
✔️ Hardstanding for those wetter days

Pitches are £18 per night, with open views across the same fields as our luxury cabins, giving you space, privacy and a real sense of calm.
