This is taken from a 1911 Barmouth guide. The guest house was West End House run by Mary Wi******er.
Many properties in the terrace were named in honour of Queen Victoria. West End was a favourite walk of hers in Hampstead.

West End is now Môr Wyn Guest House and 20 Marine Parade (flats).

Yes Dizzy cat we do allow pets, but only dogs. Your pet sea gull is not allowed in, even if he is hungry.

I have often thought about having nice mouldings on the gate posts. We did have some but being wooden they just dried and split in the sun and then a child accidentally ripped one off.

We've now settled on a new feature on (well, near) the gatepost. He's called Dizzy and loves fusses. He's often camouflaged in the grey stone so look out for him.

We're just training the new staff to help with your luggage.

Marine Parade, Barmouth

As tourism boomed in the late 1800s and early 1900s the need for more accommodation in Barmouth increased. One such development was Marine Parade. This was one of Barmouth’s most ambitiously scaled projects and was of symmetrical construction.
Another development on Marine Parade was the Pavilion Building. This was constructed in 1904 and housed retail premises, including a shoe shop, a news agent, a restaurant and a cinema. It was eventually demolished in the 1970s after being deemed unsafe and was replaced soon after with a more modern brick building housing an amusement arcade.
