Located on the north side of Hury reservoir, with south facing with views overlooking Baldersdale (Post code DL12 9UU) Why not come and stay in our comfy cosy cottage fitted out with all the necessities you will ever need with a few modern luxuries thrown in. The

cottage is situated just ten miles from the market town of Barnard Castle overlooking Hury reservoir. There is plenty to do and see with lots of country walks available suitable for a variety of capabilities from keen ramblers to dog walkers or just those out for an afternoon stroll. Alternatively if you are looking for a quieter pace for your stay you can always relax in the garden and soak up the scenery keeping an eye out for all the native wildlife and birds, if you wish to get a little closer Hury reservoir boasts some of the best trout fishing as well as supporting a diverse array of waterfowl and with it being just a short stroll to the shores it makes for a unique experience during your stay. After a fulfilling day exploring and seeing the sights the dales have to offer you know you are returning to a cottage where you can sit and relax in front of a real open fire before tucking up in the king-sized bed ready to see what adventures tomorrow brings

It was a fantastic walk on a beautiful day.

The flora and fauna of Hannah hauxwells Meadow is well worth a visit and brings people from far and wide

A truly magnificent place to visit thats just a stones throw away from Buckswell Cottage

Some views get old but for me this one never does. 😍

Its a shame that no is booked in to arrive on Monday (in 3 days time)

Maybe i can sneek arround for some rest and relaxing 🤔🤔🤔

There are soooo many stalls all with different wares

The quality is fantastic 💪

I was there early today so it doesnt show how well supported it is.

There is also a farmers market on the first Saturday of every month

There is lots of cafes, boutiques and independent shops to visit to really make a visit into town worth while

Todays walk featured the banks of Hury Reservoir at 3.33 miles

It was a cool 7.5 degrees with a biting cold east wind.

There was no sheep yet on the reservoir so there was lots of wild flowers to see and admire.

The blue bells are growing and just starting to open and there is so many pockets on the north shore banks

Give them a couple more weeks and they should be in full display (we have the 11th of May for 4 nights at £520 or 7 nights at £840 that should coincide perfectly)

Now ....... my plant knowledge is not amazing and i am unsure what a few of the flowers i spotted today are ......... please when you are looking through if you spot one or two you know please comment on the picture and help me out
