🎄 CHRISTMAS 🎄

The cottage is looking super Christmassy and cosy ready for the big man’s arrival at the weekend 🎅🏼 (or maybe it’s just ready for our more important guests staying at the cottage to enjoy the festive season in North Devon 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I’ve loved having our December guests stay at the cottage - being able to write recommendations on how to enjoy the local area during Christmas and New Year, just reminded me how glorious this time of year is in North Devon!

Winter we’re ready for you 🔥

We upgraded our fireplace a couple of years ago and it was another project that instantly improved the aesthetics, usability and comfort of Watergate Cottage.

The Aire model, has a large glass window which maximises the view of the fire - which lets face it, is what having a log burner is really all about. 😍

The fire, together with the eco fan, makes the lounge super snuggly throughout the colder months and we love that our guests get to enjoy the fire during their stays too, with one large basket of responsibly and sustainably sourced logs, complimentary to each and every stay.

Is it just us or does the dog always gets the best seat in the house? 🤷🏻‍♀️🐶

Red sky in the morning…

We love this time of year at the cottage, when sunrise hour becomes your normal wake up time and sunset your natural chill out hour.

Sunrise: we get to enjoy the sunrise emerging from the trees out the back of the house, from the comfort of either the master king size bed or the sofa in the kitchen.

Sunset: from the cottage, our favourite place to enjoy it is around the fire pit with a Jack Russell takeaway. This time of year the golden hour hitting the surrounding hillside and the interchanging colours behind the house is absolutely stunning to watch.

Wherever we choose to enjoy it, our loyal companion Nevis 🐾 is never far away, but I think if we were to ask him, he’d declare his favourite are his sunrise walks on the beach 🌅
