One last weekend…

It’s almost time to close the gates on another camping season at Tarka Trail Camping.

We’ll be closing on Monday 28 September, which means this is your final weekend to stay with us in 2026.

So if you fancy one last night under canvas, one more campervan getaway, a cycle along the Tarka Trail or a September weekend by the North Devon coast, this is it.

🍂 All good things must come to an end…

The Autumn Equinox is here, when day and night are almost equal in length and we officially move from summer into autumn – and the final stretch of our 2026 camping season.

We’ve had such an amazing summer, with fantastic weather and campers joining us from all over the world to enjoy our little corner of North Devon.

We’re not quite finished yet though. There’s still time for a few more days on the Tarka Trail, coastal walks, autumn sunsets and evenings back at your pitch before we close at the end of September.

We loved welcoming these three motorcyclists from Germany, stopping with us during their tour of the South West before making the journey home. 🇩🇪

It’s not just tents, campervans and caravans that pitch up at Tarka Trail Camping. Our peaceful North Devon location makes a great stop for motorcyclists touring the South West too - somewhere to park up, enjoy a hot shower, recharge and get a good night’s rest before getting back on the road.

Our 2026 camping season is almost over, but there’s still time to squeeze in one more stay at Tarka Trail Camping 🚲

Bring the bikes, pack the walking boots, head for the coast - or simply come and enjoy a few quieter September days in North Devon.

🥾🐾 Good luck to Sarah, who is walking the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Dorset, with a night at Tarka Trail Camping along the way.

The full The South West Coast Path stretches for 630 miles from Minehead to Poole Harbour, with more than 115,000ft of ascent and descent along the route - equivalent to climbing Everest four times!

We’re pleased to be a handy stopping point for hikers passing through North Devon, with a place to pitch, hot showers and charging facilities before heading on.

It’s especially lovely to hear our cyclist and walker pitches, charging facilities, Wi-Fi and spotless facilities getting a mention.

“Very nice campsite. Highly suitable for hikers and cyclists with a small tent. They are allowed to pitch their tent in the best spot, under the trees and among the bushes with a great view. Otherwise, there is plenty of room for motorized campers with caravans, motorhomes, or large tents. There are various picnic tables everywhere. Near the hiker/biker area, there is a shelter with lighting, a picnic table, and clotheslines. The toilet facility is modern and very clean. There is a special charging point (USB-A and USB-C) for your devices. The Wi-Fi works well. In short: this campsite is highly recommended.”

Just three weekends left to come and stay with us before we close for the season on 28 September.

This month is a lovely time to be in North Devon. The summer crowds have eased, the Tarka Trail is right outside the gate and there are still plenty of opportunities for beach days, coastal walks, bike rides and a trip into Instow and beyond...
