Beautiful Exmoor is back on the big screen, thanks to a new Swedish psychological thriller filmed largely on stunning Exmoor.

‘Unmoored’ will be available on major streaming platforms from mid-September, and possibly some local cinemas from mid-August.

The film is a an adaptation of ‘The Living and Dead in Winsford’, a novel written by award-winning Swedish crime author Hakan Nesser while he spent several months living in Exmoor National Park.

The film and book revolve around Maria Holinek, a famous Swedish TV presenter who flees Stockholm for Exmoor with her beloved dog, Castor, when accusations about her husband turn her life upside down.

The extensive Exmoor scenes were shot in late 2021 in the Simonsbath area and locations include the Barle Valley and The Exmoor Forest Inn, as well as Exford, Minehead and Wiveliscombe.New Film shot on Exmoor:

The Salt Path by Raynor Winn tells the moving story of Raynor and her husband, Moth, who hit the South-West Coast Path after losing everything. Along the way, Exmoor’s stunning cliffs, hidden coves, and sweeping moorland became their place of healing and inspiration.
Having read the book and now seen the film, I want to share with you the sense of belonging and connection it creates with our fabulous North Devon & Exmoor like it is “Our” story! It focuses on our fantastic coastal path where the moor meets the sea, but if you are thinking of coming to stay in North Devon, the film gives you a magical introduction to the whole area.
With 120 miles plus of the SW coast path in our area alone, it is a must for the avid walker and many of the scenes from the film are so close to us at the Red Linhay at Hollacombe Farm AND we have a cancellation coming up for a

Wow what a sight on exercise this morning! I thought, as it rose out of the stream, it was a buzzard - until its wings just spread and SPREAD. Wowee I thought that is double the size of a buzzard - it was HUMONGOUS sea eagle. What a privilege AND I had a Red Linhay guest riding with me (oh of course we see them all the time 😆)
