Our steaks are 100% British, grass fed beef & dry aged. This means that the produce coming in to us are top quality.

We make them even better by cooking over hot charcoal to give a high intense heat, caramelising the exterior meat and locking in all the juicy flavour inside.

Serve them up with some hand cut chips & steak sauce and your leaving happy 😊

We have a number of positions open here at The George. As we gear up for a busy winter period along with outside events.

👩‍🍳 CHEFS
We're looking to add some strong leadership to the kitchen with the addition of either a head chef to take control of the kitchen or a sous chef to work alongside our chef/owner and the rest of the team. Sensible hours, 5 days over 7, salary & package offered to match.

KITCHEN ASSISTANT
A capable member of the day team is required to assist the chefs with daily tasks. Producing lunches, desserts, food prep, cleaning & pot washing. 5 days a week, 11--3pm.

BAR STAFF
We have openings for a couple of part-time bar staff. Hours will vary between 8--20 hours. Including event work at The Assembly Rooms. Shifts from 5pm during the week with weekend mornings, days and evenings. Pay is above NMW dependant on age. 18+

WAITING STAFF
We're looking to hire a couple of new waiting staff on a casual basis with a regular single weekend shift initially but the prospect of picking up more shifts for the right candidates. Pay is above NMW dependant on your age.

VATS THE PROBLEM

We joined the VAT's the Problem campaign when it launched back in July.

Spearheaded by industry bodies such as & along with high profile names such as .

We pay the 2nd highest tax on hospitality in Europe. At 20% we're nearly TRIPLE the 7% rates in Germany and double the 10% rates found in France, Italy & Spain.

The Irish Government have dropped their VAT to just 9%. What that means to customers is a £16 dish would cost £17.44 in Ireland 🇮🇪 but the same dish would cost £19.20 in the UK 🇬🇧

Dropping the VAT would create jobs, growth within the sector and have a positive an economic impact to the country.

With the budget edging closer, we're asking as many people as possible to sign the petition found using the link below ⬇️
