One of the nice things about our peaceful location is that we tend to have very few fireworks in the immediate area, making it a great choice for those with dogs who aren't keen on all the bangs! 🐶❤️

Great fact about Beadnell harbour

Beadnell harbour, built in the eighteenth century the harbour and limekilns, once the haunt of herring fishermen and smugglers is still used by local fishermen today.

The harbour is an unusual one, being the only west-facing one on the east coast, and with two miles of unspoilt beach here the sheltered bay makes an ideal location for some of the best sailing and wind surfing on the Northumberland coast.

🔨 Next up for a little TLC… Benthall House! 🌊🏡

Once the busy summer and autumn season starts to quieten down, it gives us the chance to get stuck into all those jobs that are difficult to do when we have guests coming and going.

So, week commencing 9th November, it's Benthall House's turn for a little TLC. ❤️

Our seafront house will be getting some redecorating, refreshing and general maintenance to keep everything looking lovely for our guests – and ready for another busy year ahead.
One of the challenges of running holiday cottages is finding the time to do the bigger jobs. When you're welcoming guests week after week, there simply isn't enough time between changeovers to start moving furniture and getting the paint brushes out! 😂
We'll share some behind-the-scenes pictures as we go and, of course, show you the finished result.
We continually invest in all of our properties, and autumn and winter are when we finally get the opportunity to tackle our ever-growing list of jobs.
The Bothy first… then Benthall House. Who knows what we'll find to do next! 😂

♻️ **New addition at the cottages – glass recycling boxes!** 🍾

After a summer spent fishing rather a lot of empty w**e, b**r and gin bottles out of our recycling bins 😂, we’ve decided it’s time for a new addition!

Unfortunately, the council doesn’t collect glass from holiday cottages, so we’ve now added **separate glass recycling boxes** at our properties. 🍷🍺

If you’re staying with us, please pop any empty bottles and jars into the new boxes rather than the normal recycling bin. We’ll then make sure they get taken away and recycled properly. ♻️

🔨🏡 Today’s the day… The Bothy makeover begins!

After a very busy summer, we've finally managed to block out a week in the diary and today we're getting stuck into The Bothy's autumn TLC! ❤️

The guests are out, the paint brushes are coming out and the job list is ready… although experience tells us that once we start, that list will probably get considerably longer! 😂

We've got redecorating, refreshing, repairs and a good garden tidy-up on the agenda, along with all those little jobs that are almost impossible to tackle properly when guests are coming and going.

It's always slightly dangerous when we get an empty cottage for a week because one of us inevitably says, “While we're here, we might as well…” 🤦‍♀️😂

We'll share some pictures as we go — including the chaos before we get to the lovely finished bit!
