An update from us…
As many of you know, we’ve been in the process of selling the pub since February so that both of us can move forward with our lives. Sadly, despite getting very close to completion, the sale unexpectedly fell through at the last minute.
It’s been a bit of a blow and we’re still processing what’s happened and, ultimately, what this means for our future. We know lots of you will have questions, but we hope you’ll understand that it’s a difficult time for us and we’d really appreciate a little space while we work through the details and decide what comes next.
We are trying to explore all options for the future of the Globe but while we figure out our next steps, we need to make a couple of changes to give ourselves some breathing space. So, from September, we’ll be opening 3 days a week (Friday - Sunday) until Christmas with a view to close the business in the New Year if we’re unable to come up with a solution before then.
We love this pub, we love this community and we desperately do not want to see these doors close for good, but the reality is that we simply cannot keep going as we are.
The Globe remains a fantastic, viable business, and we’re exploring every option to keep the pub open. One idea is to look at turning the Globe into a community pub. If you, or anyone you know, might be interested then give us a call or message us.
