Bridge House shares the same stretch of the River Brit made famous by Channel 4's "River Cottage" series, surrounded by some of Dorset's most spectacular countryside with excellent golf, shooting & fishing available locally. Nearby is the bustling market town of Bridport and the quirky fishing harbour at West Bay.

We’re looking forward to welcoming One Tree Hill to The Ollerod on Saturday

A brilliant covers band playing classics from the 50s through to the present day, and guaranteed to get people up dancing.

Music from 8pm, food from the Crust & Cow trailer and hopefully a warm summers evening in the garden. If the weather has other plans, we’ll be ready for that too and the party will go on!

Join us on Friday 12th June for a morning with Kerry King, founder of Be More Betty.
Kerry will be sharing insights on wellbeing, skincare, movement and navigating menopause, helping women feel their best.
The talk begins at 11am and is free to attend. Tea, coffee, drinks and snacks will be available from the bar throughout the morning.
You’ll also have the chance to try Kerry’s chemical-free beauty balm, available to purchase with an exclusive discount on the day.

The lounge area is such a nice spot to escape to. A glass of wine, a cocktail, a good catch up or just somewhere to hide with your book.
We are keeping this room dog and child free, not because we do not love dogs or children, but because we love being able to offer one slightly quieter corner of The Ollerod.

Unsurprisingly, Tyler’s Crust & Cow food truck seems to be making quite a name for itself in Beaminster.

Crust & Cow is very much its own thing and also open for takeaways, but if you fancy eating with us, you are more than welcome to bring it into the bar and we are always happy to provide plates and cutlery.

He has also recently added gyros and grill boxes to the menu which are, and we are not just saying this, phenomenal.

Open Tuesday to Saturday from 4.30pm. Definitely worth a visit if you have not tried it yet.

The summer holidays aren’t far off and our apartments are a lovely option for families looking to spend a few days in Beaminster.
Both apartments have plenty of space to settle. The ground floor apartment has its own enclosed garden and is dog friendly, while the upper apartment enjoys views over the garden with a balcony.
You are also only a few steps from the main hotel, so although nicely tucked away, you can still wander over and enjoy the bustle of the bar.

There is never a bad time to visit and stay with us in Beaminster, but we thought we would highlight a few summer weekends that might be especially appealing if you enjoy pairing your stay with events happening locally.

Saturday 27th of June to Sunday 5th July - Vibrant town of Beaminster plays host to the annual Beaminster Festival of music, theatre, literature and art.

Sunday 2nd August - Buckham Fair returns with its much loved mix of livestock, countryside tradition and community spirit, founded by Martin Clunes.

Thursday 27th August - The Melplash Show, a celebration of local farming families, heritage and rural life.

Sunday 23rd August - The Bridport Torchlight Procession, from Bridport down to West Bay, thousands of lit fire torches making their way to the coast.

Saturday 5th September - Bridport Hat Festival, a unique event that fills the town with colour and creativity in a way few places could.

Bank holiday Sunday, 24th May We’re bringing a bit of Ibiza to the garden. From 4pm to 9pm, DJs Strice, Arlo and Toby will be playing house music on the terrace. Crust & Cow will be serving throughout, so you’re well covered for something to eat. No tickets needed, just come along, enjoy the tunes and settle in with a drink.

So many of the woods nearby are full of bluebells at the moment, a lovely reminder of the landscape we’re lucky to have on our doorstep.
