Yesterday saw our last guests of season 2025 depart from a very snowy Springlake. Another very successful year, so a massive thank you to each and every one of our visiting guests, new and returning, for bringing Springlake to life.
The year brought many highlights and the summer weather was superb allowing all to just chill, makingthe most of our facilities, visit our wonderful beaches and places of interest in our part of the country.
Sadly, no luck with our visiting Owls this year and despite our best efforts they were deterred by the Jackdaws, however, we did have 3 baby Kestrels ringed who successfully fledged.
Those of you who are familiar with Springlake will recollect that we did have 4 resident sheep. Blossom, the last surviving sheep sadly died in August at the age of ten and a half years. She certainly wasn't the most sociable of animals but certainly the most vocal!
Attached below are a few captured images from the year including a drawn thank you note from children and the snowman from this wintry weather
Wishing you all a very Happy and Healthy 2026 and look forward to welcoming many returning and new guests from February half term onwards.

The first day of meteorological Autumn and the end of a busy Summer season with the return to school next week. What wonderful weather all our families, returning and new enjoyed visiting our beautiful beaches, towns and countryside. A huge thank you to everyone who visited us for making it an amazing season. Another addition to Springlake for the younger guests was the playhouse, which was a great success.
However, what is there not to love about Springlake Leisure? During the Spring months we were hosts to nesting Barn Owls and Kestrels. Lester wired inbox cameras into a monitor indoors so we could track the progress of them from laying their eggs sitting, hatching and feeding. What an absolute privilege to have an insight into their world. The Barn Owls hatched six eggs with five owlets surviving and the Kestrels successfully raising two out of four. In June, they were weighed, ringed and recorded before leaving the security of their boxes and venturing out into the big wild world.
Although the evenings are drawing in, we still are looking forward to welcoming more guests to Springlake before Christmas and the New Year.

Apple blossom time now at Springlake, the trees are beginning to come to life again to herald the start of the Spring/Summer season. Mixed weather during February half term and the Easter holidays did not deter our guests as the indoor pool and games room activities offered here were popular with all age groups. The Easter Egg hunts went ahead as planned even though the weather was egg-ceptionally hunt unfriendly but enjoyed by the children.
Last weekend we offered rest and recuperation to four guys who were cycling the Wolf Way, a 248 mile round cycle ride from Bury St Edmunds taking in Suffolk's towns, villages and coasts by following country, gravel, ancient and bridleway routes. Well done to them for completing the ride in spite of inclement weather at times.
Springlake Leisure is welcoming to any form of traveller wanting to enjoy a visit to our wonderful countryside/coastal break throughout Suffolk and Norfolk.
Looking forward to seeing all our future visiting guests over the coming months. If you are thinking of a short break away take a look at our availability calendar on our website www.springlake-suffolk.co.uk, we would like to offer you a warm welcome.

Summer holidays are here so looking forward to seeing new and returning guests.
Those of you who know Lester will know that he always has to have a project on the go. So new for summer 2023 is the revamped novelty golf which hopefully will appeal to all ages and create fun family rivalry.
We still have very limited availability in one of our accommodations if anyone is looking for a last minute getaway. Contact us for details.

Easter holidays brought more fun with another inflatable from About2bounce inflatable hire. Any guests booked and wanting a treat for the children, let us know and we will be happy to help. Two May Bank Holiday weekends and a busy half term have passed in a flash.
Now Summer has well and truly arrived and the weather has been wonderful for our guests to enjoy their surroundings and beyond. The sheep have been shorn so must be feeling much more comfortable without their winter fleeces. Today we caught on camera around the lake some fledging Sparrowhawks, always something of interest to see around the grounds.
We have some limited availability over the long summer holidays. Take a look at our availability calendar/email us on [email protected] or give us a call on 01502 476742 for more information.
Looking forward to welcoming guests throughout the summer season and beyond.

We hope you have all had a Merry Christmas and wish all our guests, past, present and future a very Happy and Healthy 2023.
Recapping on season 2022 which again has been a varied, fantastic and uplifting year with our Summer guests enjoying some wonderful hot weather extending into early Autumn.
The tennis court which was completed in time for high season has been a great success with many guests enjoying a game or two! Remember, you don't have to be a Serena Williams or Roger Federer to play, just have fun!
In September we hosted a children's birthday party, the visiting guests hired a bouncy castle from a local company which sowed the seed that if this is something of interest that we could organise for a special occasion then we will be happy to do so.
We also commissioned some wood carvings by Paul@thespiritofwood to make the walk around the lake interesting and hope to keep adding to them.
In November we closed to the public to carry out a necessary refurbishment of the pool. The fibreglass coating was showing signs of wear and needed replacing. We took the opportunity to alter the accessibility entering and leaving the pool. Gone is the vertical ladder, replaced by walk-in steps with handrails. Of course, as with many projects it took longer than anticipated but was up and running ready for our Christmas guests and looks fabulous. However, we thank the interim guests who were so understanding that they couldn't use this valuable facility at the time of staying.
It just leaves us to say to all our returning guests, new guests and those who will be visiting us next year perhaps for the first time, a massive thank you for your continued support.

2022 season is gaining pace with busy February half term and Easter holidays and with early May Bank Holiday here we are preparing for the Summer season with exciting news that the tennis court is now ready for action.
So proud of Lester's achievement as many of you will have followed his work on it from building the footings, filling the void, preparing the surface for the tarmac and erecting the perimeter fence in the face of lockdowns and inclement weather. We hope this added facility will bring much enjoyment to many visiting guests, however, there will be a nominal charge for use of it. We had our first knock about on it after three years of not using our racquets and had to raise a glass of Robinsons at the end of the session😂.
Looking forward to seeing many returning and new guests in the coming months.
