www.dawnchorusholidays.com From glamping in a safari-style tent, to a quiet break in one of our enchanting shepherd huts, to the indulgence of a comfortable eco-friendly cottage … your stay with us will be an experience to remember. We hope that you’ll fall in love with Suffolk, just like we did when we moved our family here in 1991. We’re situated in the village of Barsham in the Waveney Valley, not far from the bustling market town of Beccles and the beautiful coastal town of Southwold. On the doorstep we have wonderful walks, bicycle rides, and the Broads National Park. There are lots of opportunities to explore the Broads by hired boat or canoe. Our glamping site is set in its own field on our small working farm, with chickens, sheep, cows, and pigs. The two safari tents and three shepherd huts are all well-spaced and come with their own barbecue. Each self-contained unit is beautifully furnished with a private bathroom and kitchen – ideal for couples, families, or a large group of friends (if you’d like to book the whole site). The South Down shepherd hut and both safari tents are dog friendly, and we also have a selection of outdoor children’s toys.

The glamping side will close next year

Dawn Chorus is home to around 1000 free range laying hens, who really make themselves known to our guests! 🐓

You may find them wandering around the glamping site, or popping up in unexpected places! 😅

Their eggs are sold in our on-site farm shop, and there’s also a handful of hens who reside in a run among the trees - this is where guests can help themselves to complimentary freshly laid eggs in the morning, just in time for breakfast! 🍳

An important update from Dawn Chorus Holidays 🧡

It is with a heavy heart and after a tremendous amount of thought and consideration that we have decided that Summer 2027 will be the last for our glamping site.

Having celebrated some recent milestone birthdays, we are slowing down as we edge our way towards semi-retirement.

From the humble beginnings of our first Safari Tents in 2012, to the thriving little business we’ve built over the 14 years that followed, we’ve decided that now is the right time to take a step back and have a little more time for ourselves.

We’re really looking forward to spending one more very special winter, spring and summer hosting our wonderful guests from far and wide, and we promise we’ll provide the same top-notch service we’ve always been proud of.

Our cottages Lavender, Bluebell and Daisy, our farm shop and our farm animals (and eggs) will continue, but we will be saying goodbye to our three shepherd huts and safari tents on the glamping site.

If you’ve always planned on visiting but never got round to it, now is your chance, or if you’d like to book one last stay with us for old time’s sake, snap up your preferred date. We will be closing the doors to our glamping site on 31st August 2027.

A huge thank you to everyone who has stayed with us over the years - you’ve made Dawn Chorus what it is, and we have some very lovely memories that will stay with us forever.

Recent snaps from our farm shop 🛒

We’re so proud to support a whole host of local producers in our little farm shop, from eggs laid here on the farm, to bakery products, local milk and a freezer full of locally produced meat, pizzas and pre-prepared meals. 🥩🥚🍰

A huge thank you so everyone who has supported us so far - we’re getting busier with every week that passes, and we’re delighted to fly the flag for Norfolk and Suffolk produce! 🧡

The perfect late September weekend at Dawn Chorus 🧡

A refreshing breeze, blue skies, guests enjoying our peaceful glamping site, and some Suffolk sun. Absolute perfection, in our eyes, but maybe we’re biased! 😉

There was a slightly different atmosphere at Dawn Chorus last weekend as we celebrated the marriage of our beautiful daughter Hannah to her husband Keiran. 🤍🥂

A traditional church wedding, followed by a marquee reception, complete with vintage tractors and straw bales - a real reflection of our lives here in rural Suffolk.

It was truly special to welcome so many of our friends and family to our beautiful glamping site, and to dance the night away, with an abundance of laughter and love.

Memories we will treasure forever - we’re very proud parents. 🥰
