As summer eases into autumn, Jervaulx Abbey’s an idyllic place nearby that’s perfect for a slow wander around. Steeped in history, & respectfully conserved, with hundreds of wild flowers & fauna growing amidst its enchanting ruin, enduing a peaceful & enchanting feel.

There’s a lovely walk by the River Ure, through pasture & parkland, & be sure to stop in the Tearoom… open from 10am to 4pm Thursday to Sunday, & closed for winter from the 3rd of November. Well worth a visit for the first-rate cake & coffee… oh & the best homemade quiches & sausage rolls too!

Always a worthwhile hike up Penhill, with such smashing views of the Dales. Grateful to have it so near by for it’s a perfect place for a picnic on these sunny summer days. Taking time to marvel at the wonder of the views with a cup of Yorkshire tea in hand. True happiness.

Exploring the Dales on our doorstep, even with a little mist the views are still beautiful and you can feel Spring in the air 🌱

Reeth is a quaint Yorkshire Dales village only a short 30 minute drive from High Parks and the views over Swaledale from Fremington Edge are a must see! It also has a couple of great cafes and pubs for well deserved post-walk refreshments.
