Bedfordshire Freemasons

Bedfordshire Freemasons The official page for Freemasonry in Bedfordshire. We have 56 Lodges meeting at 6 Centres across Bedfordshire.

Freemasonry is one of the worldโ€™s oldest and largest non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. We are a secular society open to men of any race, religion, political belief or status. Based upon the traditions of medieval stonemasons who built our castles and cathedrals, today we still use the stonemasonโ€™s tools as symbols of our aim to โ€˜buildโ€™ better men and a better world for everyon

e, whatever their background. As Freemasons, we use four principles to help define our path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity. In our present uncertain times, these principles are as important today as they have ever been.

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ A warm Bedfordshire welcome to Guy Smith and Teri! ๐Ÿ‘

Guy arrived at the Keep this morning after another stage of his epic 400-mile challenge in aid of the Alzheimerโ€™s Society.

Despite the miles, injuries and challenges along the way, Guy was all smiles and quick to praise the incredible support he has received throughout his journey.

Welcomed by Provincial Grand Master Nick Edwards, Deputy Provincial Grand Master Martin Wilson and members of the Province, Guy and Teri enjoyed a tour of the Keep before Guy was presented with a ยฃ1,000 donation towards his fundraising efforts. ๐Ÿ’™

Guy was also honoured to sign the Provincial Visitorsโ€™ Book, joining a distinguished list of guests welcomed by Bedfordshire Freemasons.

After retrieving his bike from the safekeeping of Nick Edwards ๐Ÿ˜‰, Guy and Teri headed off on the next leg of their journey towards Hertfordshire and then London, where he will be welcomed at the Quarterly Communication.

Good luck for the final miles, Guy โ€“ Bedfordshire is proud to support you! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™

A well attended and enjoyable meeting at the St Andrews Rooms, Biggleswade, presided over by the Master, Martin Wilson, saw Hugh Love elected as Master for the coming year with acclaim. ๐Ÿ‘

The Provincial Grand Master, Nick Edwards, also presented 50 Year Certificates, with affection, sincerity and appreciation to Robert Lovesey and Clive Walsh. ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

An engaging and thought-provoking talk on Misconceptions in Freemasonry by Shaun Butler, the Director of Membership and Communications provided plenty of interaction no lack of humour, positivity and talking points before members enjoyed a festive board together.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Members, guests and their wives of John Bunyan Lodge raised an amazing ยฃ1,168 for SOS Saturday Outreach Service through a raffle at their recent Ladies Night, with prizes donated by lodge members and local businesses.

๐Ÿ‘ Lodge Master David Bulmer, together with Julie Bulmer, Vic Iannantuono, Ian Cording, and Jane Roberts, presented the cheque to SOS Founder Beverley Everitt and her son Brandon.

๐Ÿฒ SOS provides free food, drinks, clothing and essential supplies to homeless and vulnerable people in Bedford every week of the year.

โ˜•๐Ÿฅ“ Veterans & Emergency Services Breakfast Club โ€“ Ampthill

Bedfordshire Freemasons were proud to support another successful Veterans and Serving Armed Forces & Emergency Services Breakfast Club at the Wingfield Club, Ampthill, on 30 May.

Led by Ben Keenan and Nick Carney, a team of Freemasons helped provide a warm welcome, hearty breakfast and great company for veterans, serving personnel and members of the emergency services. Also lending their support were the newly elected Mayor of Ampthill, Councillor Gary Summerfield, and the Lady Mayoress, Sue Summerfield.

The event welcomed around 30 attendees and was further supported by John Philips of Op NOVA, part of the Forces Employment Charity, which assists veterans in accessing vital support services.

A fantastic example of Bedfordshire Freemasons working with the local community and supporting those who serve and have served our communities. ๐Ÿ‘

Future Breakfast Clubs take place on 20 June, 18 July, 15 August and 19 September (9:30amโ€“11:00am).

Special thanks to members of the Provincial Executive, the Provincial Grand Almoner for doubling up as our โ€œDavid Baileyโ€ ๐Ÿ“ธ for the day, and to the Provincial Grand Stewards whose hard work ensured everything ran smoothly. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ“Š Statistics from the day:

โœ… 125 tests booked
โœ… 121 completed
๐ŸŸข 101 Green readings
๐ŸŸ  13 Amber readings

One member of the public messaged afterwards as follows:

"I attended the PSA testing yesterday at the Keep. This is the second time I have been for a test however it was the first time I had visited Bedfordshire Freemasons.

I would like to pass on my thanks for the efficient system you had in place & for how welcoming everyone was. I would have stayed for some tea & pastries however I was working a night shift so needed to get back home!"
