We finally made it to see Ashes to Fashion at the Ulster Museum.
After the devastating 1976 fire that almost destroyed the museum’s entire fashion collection, this exhibition tells the story of a collection reborn, now one of the most important in Western Europe. It’s beautifully curated, with everything from 18th-century treasures to an iconic dress by Schiaparelli, alongside closer-to-home designers like Paul Costelloe and Jonathan Anderson.
From Ravenhill House it’s just a short bus ride (or a 25-minute stroll) to the museum, making it an easy and worthwhile visit.
We even picked up the catalogue, which you’ll find in the drawing room for guests to enjoy.
It’s on until 13 September, we hope lots of our guests get the chance to see it.

One of our favourite places to visit in Northern Ireland is Ballynoe Stone circle. The walk to get there looks like the start of a fairytale.
We are always happy to recommend walks and days trips close to Belfast and have a wealth of maps and knowledge on the local area.

A huge thank you to our recent guests for the kind words in recent reviews 💛
As a small, family-run B&B that’s been welcoming guests for over 25 years, we rely heavily on word of mouth and online reviews to help new guests find us.
If you’ve stayed with us recently, we’d be so grateful if you left a review on Google or Tripadvisor, or both!

Some things never change… but for good reason. 🍳 Our poached eggs on house-made sourdough with Ballymaloe relish have been on the menu since we opened, and they’re still just as delicious.
