We finally made it to see Ashes to Fashion at the Ulster Museum.
After the devastating 1976 fire that almost destroyed the museum’s entire fashion collection, this exhibition tells the story of a collection reborn, now one of the most important in Western Europe. It’s beautifully curated, with everything from 18th-century treasures to an iconic dress by Schiaparelli, alongside closer-to-home designers like Paul Costelloe and Jonathan Anderson.
From Ravenhill House it’s just a short bus ride (or a 25-minute stroll) to the museum, making it an easy and worthwhile visit.
We even picked up the catalogue, which you’ll find in the drawing room for guests to enjoy.
It’s on until 13 September, we hope lots of our guests get the chance to see it.
