He’s a Good Lad our Declan! Our amazing apprentice chef, now our Sous Chef; he’s the dedication and skill behind many of our amazing food.

And now he’s doing his bit for charity. Here are his words:

“Want to join me in making a difference?

I’m raising money exclusively for Alaw Ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, through the official Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Charity (Reg Charity No: 1060574).

This cause is very close to my heart — a member of my family received care on Alaw Ward, and the kindness, support and dedication shown by every single member of staff was absolutely incredible. They went above and beyond, and it meant the world to us.

This is my way of saying thank you and giving back, so we can help make their work even better, buy new equipment, or add little comforts for patients and families who need it most.

Every single donation, no matter how small, will go straight to the ward and will make a real difference. Thank you so much for helping me support this amazing team — it means everything to me.”

The room was recently refurbished and had a panoramic view over Benllech bay and Snowdonia and was fab. Food was very good throughout our stay especially Maureen’s breakfast, which was to die for!! Environment was excellent and very clean. I can’t recommend this place enough. We both can’t wait to go back there again.'

'My wife and I called in without booking for a meal, they were very busy but managed to accommodate us. We had to wait but our meals were excellent. My steak was delicious and tender and my wife’s seafood chowder was excellent. They were apologetic about our wait but we had expected it has we didn’t book. It gave me time for a few more pints of smooth.
Very nice staff and we would without any doubt go back. The portions were great too.'

Oh eh! Look at this.

Confit duck leg with dauphinois potatoes, braised red cabbage and a red wine jus. What a cracking plate of food!
