Eyemouth is a beautiful harbour town, just 8 miles north of Berwick Upon Tweed. The tiny streets and historic working harbour are charming. Famous for the Eyemouth Pale a cold smoked haddock. Both fishing and pleasure boats fill the harbour with beautiful architecture, wildlife a plenty, independent shops, lovely beach and fantastic food it is well worth a visit.

Today I took a short drive to the charming market town of Kelso. So much to see, gorgeous Flores Castle, countless independent shops, cafes and restaurants and the River Tweed Salmon Fishing Museum. A fantastic opportunity to learn so much about the River Tweed, ideal if you are staying on the banks of the river in one of our holiday Shiels 😉😍🐟

This afternoon I've been exploring the Scottish Boarders at Dryburgh. The brilliant (you know I love a bridge) Dryburgh footbridge, a cable stayed footbridge dating from 1817. I came across some beautiful sights, of course the stunning River Tweed, The Temple of the Muses, dedicated to Poet James Thompson, The William Wallace Statue and the stunning Dryburgh Abbey, resting place of Sir Walter Scott. I have now been tempted to try the four Abbeys route to take in Melrose, Kelso and Jedburgh. Even on a bit of a grey afternoon the sights were breathtaking, What a place to visit and lucky, lucky me to now call this area home. Fancy a walk? 👣❤️

Indulging my love of history, walking and bridges! Twizel Bridge is a cracker and just a few miles away. So many historic and beautiful places to visit locally. Can't wait to continue to share more fantastic spots on my quest to become a local😀 West Ord Holiday Cottages ❤️
