Just a mile from West Ord is the charming Chain Bridge Honey Farm. So much to see and learn at the visitor centre, beekeeping museum and wonderful vintage machinery and vehicle collection. There is also a fascinating bee keepers garden full of inspiration, wonderful selection of murals and artwork and the most delicious cafe on a vintage double decker! The location is just as charming, overlooking the Union Chain Bridge, the oldest suspension bridge still in use today, a real photo opportunity! Just the ticket for busy bees of all ages. 🐝

Today Cameron and I took the very short trip across the river to Paxton House for their wonderful antiques and collectables fayre. One of three weekends this year filled with wonderful knowledgeable and very friendly exhibitors. This is just one of the many events Paxton House holds such as the chamber music festival still to come in July. The house is wonderful, with River Tweed fronted gardens and amazing Stables tearooms. Bursting with history and scenery it is well worth a visit ❀️

So emotional when children get ready to leave home!
I avoid getting near the many nests about the farm, leaving them in peace but these little ones have had their eyes on me under the barn for a while. This was my last chance for a chat as today they have flown the nest. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Barn Swallow who trusted us in this busy spot and who have been very busy keeping their hungry chicks satisfied. Good luck little ones, see you next year!

Both fishing and pleasure boats fill the harbour with beautiful architecture, wildlife a plenty, independent shops, lovely beach and fantastic food it is well worth a visit.
