One Word Cinema returns for the following two Sundays with the unifying theme 'Block'.

One of the highlights of a visit to the ultra North of the Northumberland coastline is a trip to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.

Visitors should be a ware that access to the island is via a tidal causeway.
The image below has all of the safe crossing times (in green).

Times listed in RED- You need stay on or off the island. Do not pick a battle with the North Sea, the odds are stacked mightily against you.

ONE WORD CINEMA 2026
Our monthly free film club is back this month in a slightly different format.
We will still be showing six films united by a single-word theme, but now we will run these screenings on TWO CONSECUTIVE SUNDAYS.
Beginning with 'TACIT', a celebration of silent era and modern silent cinema on Sunday 22nd February and Sunday 1st March.

Silent cinema is a universal art-form that transcends language. Comedy, drama, thrills and heartbreak- It's all here and free to attend.

One of the big attractions to staying at YHA Berwick is our proximity to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. We always advise our guests to check crossing times before venturing out. Your car will not win in a battle with the North Sea.

Each Sunday, we will publish the safe crossing times for the following two weeks to help plan your visit.

(NB, guests travelling on Sundays or around Christian festival days are advised to give themselves plenty of time to get off the island as these can be busy times for traffic)
