We’re having a moving sale!

This Sunday we will having a garage sale, 11am onwards.

We’re selling everything from teapots to picture frames.

Please come to the rear of the property (turn up the lane to Galagate Farm).

We would prefer cash, but can take bank card!

Hope to see you then 😊

We have some news!

In a couple of weeks time we will be saying goodbye to our last guests.

When we set out to fulfill our goal, we always vowed to only open for 3 years. We’re now into our 4th year, and we’re thrilled to have sold the property on. We’re packing boxes and getting ready for our new venture just over the border.

Buying and renovating Norham Bike Yard during the pandemic was certainly a challenge and we’re proud to have created such a fantastic business. We literally started with an empty house and a big idea but never dreamed it would bring us so much fulfilment.

We’ve been just about fully booked during our second and third years, having built up a mainly cycling clientele, with lots of other types of guests becoming regulars too! We’d estimate that as of the end of last season in 2023, around 70% of our guests either arrived on bikes, or arrived with bikes to ride while they stayed. We also became popular with motorcyclists - our countryside has such a lot to offer both. And we even had 2 guests arrive by canoe!

With regular visitors also using us as a base for the popular salmon fishing, we have been so happy to be part of their big fish stories! Our regular golfing parties will certainly be a miss too.

Throughout the last 3 and a bit years, each new arrival has brought a different story. Coming out of the pandemic was tough for all of us, but tougher for some and we were happy to have provided a tranquil place of rest and recuperation.

We’ve made some fantastic friends for life along the way too. Throughout the hard graft (believe us - you should try it!), the people have definately made it all worth while.

The stories are too numerous to mention, but the memories will certainly stay with us.

Thank you to everyone who made Norham Bike Yard such a success.

🦆 Well, the ducks are happy!

🤗 It’s with regret that we are cancelling this weekends cyclocross event at Etal.

☔️ The persistent rain has prevented the car parking we need to make this event safe, which as we know is the most important thing.

👀 We will be processing refunds for motorhome parking over the weekend - please bear with us while we get to that.

🚵‍♀️ We had fun building and trying out the course - we’re sorry we won’t see you this weekend. Look out for official race updates regarding entry cancellations etc on CXNE and via the British Cycling portal.

🍁 Have a lovely weekend everyone - whatever you get up to.

💚💙🧡 MOHO PARKING 🧡💙💚

If you’re coming along to next weekends cyclocross at Etal, you can once again stay in your motorhome for your weekend.

This year we are asking for booking and payment in advance, as it’s usually such a busy day (and it’s one less thing to think about 🙃)

Please book using this Eventbrite link (full details in the ‘about’ section).

Car (or van) parking on the day of the event will be subject to a £2 cash charge on entry. Parking will be in the usual field. Please note there will be NO parking at the castle this year.

All proceeds from motorhome and car parking will go to Brake, the road safety charity ❤️

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone once again 👌

Please use Eventbrite to pre-book motorhome parking for this years event. See 'about this event' for more info.

😜 We’re going to need a rogues gallery at this rate!

🚴‍♀️ We’ve had loads (and loads) of cyclists recently. Whilst we love to see guests arriving by any mode of transport (canoe, bus, motorcycle, foot, car - delete as appropriate) we’d guess-timate that about 60% are cyclists right now.

🏰 Coast and Castles route is very popular, as well as travelling to or from Innerleithen via Route 1.

🌎 We love having long distance cyclists to stay too - the gent in the 3rd photo was cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats and we wish him bags of luck! Long may your Bike Yard breakfast last 👌

More from Half a Hedgerows metal garden sculptures today. We think the swallows look amazing against any sky but especially when it’s blue 😎

We’ve been hosting gardeners today in between change overs for Norham Open Gardens. We also thoroughly enjoyed hosting Half a Hedgerow’s metal garden sculptures that went down a treat!
