It's another scorcher here in Betws Y Coed! 🌞 31°c today!
So a quick dip in the river in Betws Y Coed by the golf course, was much needed after cleaning 🥵😍
Everything looks so lush and green at the moment and the golf course is looking particularly lovely, you can walk all the way round and follow the river, a beautiful and easy walk 😍

It's been strange weather for May and today we had a strange, but beautiful rainbow in the valley.

It's not like any we've seen before, it sat in the valley like mist 🤷

Love this walk from our house. 😍
A walk up the pine forest bridle way next to Zip Forest takes you up to stunning mountain views. Once you tear yourself away from the view you walk along a farm track, down through Coed Hafod, which has a beautiful display of thousands of bluebells at the moment. (The photos do not do it justice) 😍
A gorgeous varied circular walk around 3.5 miles with around 1200ft ascent. It's definitely one to add to your list if you're staying with us.

It's been a while since we've done a Sappers Bridge update. Lots of work has been going on for over a year now. 🪏⛏️🏗️

Pippa was able to do a site visit recently and get some close up photos of the progress so far....
The project is so much bigger than any of us realised and the amount of work that has gone into it is quite amazing.
Nearly all of the materials being used have been sourced locally and the engineering that has gone into this will hopefully mean the bridge will outlast all of the previous versions.

For those of you that don't know......
The old Sappers footbridge that links our side of the river with the centre of Betws Y Coed village, was condemned 5 years ago. We are now getting a brand new and much bigger bridge that will also be a cycle route. This cycle route will connect Betws Y Coed to the nearby town of Llanrwst and eventually all the way to Llandudno!

The new Sappers bridge is due to be finished later this year and we cannot wait! 🥳

After a few days of being in London to visit family, it's so lovely to be back in the mountains and we've finally got some beautiful weather! 😍

The longer days means more time in the evenings and we were able to get an after dinner bike ride yesterday to see the sun setting over Moel Siabod and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). 😍

Today we had time to head up to Llyn Elsi and after herding some lambs 🤦😂 we cycled to more mountain views and collected some lovely wild garlic to have for our dinner. It's good to be home ❤️

Most people come to Eryri (Snowdonia) to climb Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), but Eryri has so many more beautiful peaks to discover.
It's these peaks that you'll find the true mountain experience, being surrounded by nature not queues of people.

We climbed a peak this week that we've surprisingly not done in the nearly 9 years we've been here.

Pen Yr Ole Wen is part of the Carneddau Mountain range in the Ogwen Valley. It's a great climb with a small grade 1 scramble and the views from the top towards Tryfan and Yr Wyddfa are just stunning 😍

From here you can walk along the ridge and bag as many of the Carneddau peaks that you have the time and energy for.
We ended up going as far as Carnedd Daffydd then making our way back down to the car.

The last pic is of a gorgeous little friend that we met, a beautiful lamb 🐑 that looks like a fawn! 🦌
If anyone knows the breed we'd love to know! 😍

Weather in Betws Y Coed is often unpredictable, but already this April we have had every type of weather.

So if you're heading to North Wales, make sure you pack a coat, hat, gloves, bikini, umbrella, shorts and suncream and you should be good whatever the weather! 🤣

Weather update for the Easter Weekend....
Apparently Betws Y Coed is going to be hotter than the Bahamas!! 😲😍

The weather lady said it's going to be scorchio! 🌞🌞

From the sea to the mountains 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

North Wales has epic scenery no matter what the weather and today was no exception.
Wind, rain, fog, blue skies and sunshine!

A stop at the coast for a blast of sea air. Then onto Llanberis for some bracing mountain air, with a walk around Llyn Padarn.

As we were admiring the views we were suddenly surrounded by a herd of the beautiful Welsh Mountain goats that roam around Eryri, such a treat! 😍🐐
