Happy New Year! Today is the day I got Charlie, two years ago!! Best decision. He has calmed down a lot and is very settled, and especially loves playing and walking with his best friend Tucker. Minus 5 here today, but it's more sheltered in the woods where we walk.

If you haven't tried yet, then you really need to. They have a fantastic selection of the tastiest vegan treats. I bought some for my birthday party and they were so popular. I'm fussy about cakes but these are really special. Very easy to order and great delivery service too.

Secret entrances in the woods. The perfect prompt for a future story. At the moment I'm writing a Middle Grade Fantasy story for a competition. The story was sparked by a challenge from the writing group I attend once a month. Theme: Dark of night. I need to extend it to at least 2,500 words, by the end of the week!!

These primroses have taken over a third of my herb garden! There used to be tarragon, oregano and thyme, but I can't complain as the primroses are very pretty. I'm not posting on here much as I'm concentrating on my writing. Thank you to those who have signed up to my newsletter. It means a lot to me. You can find it here: nabcottage.substack com I'm sorry that I stopped running the B&B so abruptly. I didn't explain why at the time. In December 2024 my cousin died of cancer at the age of 47. She had so many plans for her new smallholding that she never got to realize, and she won't see her little girl grow up. I decided that I wanted to focus on my writing, as it is something I've always loved doing. Running the B&B I didn't have the time to think, plan and write as much as I wanted to. Now I'm giving myself some space to do this. My latest writing project is to write the memoirs of my old dog, Ruby! We had so many adventures together, and it is lovely revisiting those memories whilst writing. Follow your dreams!
