I just had to share this lovely shout out from Clive, a regular and very dedicated Shanty goer... Thank you Clive! Come and see what it's all about!

Wednesday night is Shanty Singing at The Anchor Hartland. The shantyman who leads the singing is a young professional musician called Harrison Wallace who's started shanty crews around North Devon.
I was worried it would all be a bit 'sad' and crusty when I was first encouraged to go. Thought it might be in a back room like Shanty Singers Anonymous🤣. Not a bit of it. It takes place in the main bar, is very loud and great fun with lots of jokes and laughter and ends with Harrison leading on the piano.
There's a core crew of about 20 locals and with visitors from other shanty groups and holidaymakers there have been 50 people or more most weeks.
So if you like singing or just want to listen to some traditional sea songs in perfect harmony(🤪) and do something different it's from 7-9pm tomorrow and every Wednesday. No set fee but donations for Captain Harrison encouraged.
