We have Marsland Nature Reserve almost literally right on our doorstep here in Mead 🙂. The shade is very calming 🕊and cooling 🧊 during this remarkable bout of sunny weather. Next weekend Red Cottage is free for five days (17th - 21st June) and the great weather is forecast to last. Please direct message if interested. 🍻

Not long now until the weather is actually warm and doesn't just look warm. Well whatever the weather... Welcombe Mouth is always invigorating (and just a short walk from our holiday cottage here in North Devon). Come visit! 🙂

The 'wrecker's coast' with its razor edged rocks. Welcombe Mouth was not so welcoming to Maggie, Cornelia, Nancy, Leopoldin Baur, Edward Beck and Avonmore to name a few of the doomed ships that were wrecked here in the old days. Come visit for a Spring break 🙂

A winter's day of perfect calm and clarity. This photo was taken yesterday approaching our local town of Bude from the south side and passing the grade II listed Compass Point (or more affectionately known locally as the Pepper Pot 🧂). Rather than feeling the January blues... come and see the coastal January blues... 💙

🍅🍊🍋🍏🫐🫖🍇 The wild Winter weather's not all fun and games is it 😵‍💫. But it does often make for spectacular sights here as the turbulent Atlantic storms come rolling in. It's not a bad time to visit actually... true remoteness; embracing the elements in walks in the countryside or coast; hearty food and good drink in cosy thatched inns... come visit... 🌈

Welcombe Mouth... our very local beach. Never too busy (as you can see) and when the tide goes out lots of lovely golden sand is revealed. It's just under 1 mile from our holiday cottages here in North Devon. 27 degrees here today... what better way to cool down than a dip in the ocean! 🧜‍♂️
