A P R I L S O F A R | 🍃

Soft spring light, salty air, April showers and the feeling of a new season beginning.
•
The past few weeks have bought sunny pub drinks, Murphy’s very first haircut, five star reviews, busy changeovers and welcoming so many lovely guests (and their four-legged best friends) to Mariners Cottage 🤍
•
Murphy’s first walk on the beach was a big moment, and it’s safe to say we’ve got another little beach lover on our hands. Ralphy, living his best life, was straight into the sea as always without a second thought 🤍
•
Our cottage being dog friendly is something we’ll always be proud of, creating a space where dogs are just as welcome as their owners, because holidays are better when everyone comes along 🐾
•
Sunny drives through winding lanes, slower Sunday mornings and soaking up the sunshine when it appears never gets old. In between it all, taking a step back and we are feeling so grateful for this little life we’ve built here 🤍

Teddy would have been 13 this month, and not a day goes by without him being in our thoughts. We miss him dearly, especially on those sunny days which he absolutely loved 🪽

I don’t know about you, but we love a staycation in the UK
•
No long queues at passport control, no 3am wake up calls, and the joy of bringing your dogs along for the adventure 🫶🏼

It was as we felt spring in the air recently, we started to reminisce back to last year. The sun glittering on the water, iced coffee from , happy dogs running on the beach, and of course a picnic of picky bits 🤍

This summer may look a bit different without our Teddy, but taking Murphy for his first beach walk was magical at the weekend, and it’s safe to say we’ve certainly got another beach bear on our hands 🐾
•

And with that, we’re almost halfway through March 🤍
•
This time of year in North Devon always feels like a little reset. The days begin stretching out a bit longer, the sea air feels fresh again, and the sky slowly becomes that bit sunnier.
•
We’ve recently had family down visiting, which meant lots of dog walks along the beach, dinners out at , birthday dinners at the and plenty of fresh coastal air at Croyde followed by a cosy afternoon at after 🫶🏼
•
We’ve had some really lovely five-star reviews recently which honestly means the world to us. Knowing our guests have felt relaxed, comfortable and happy during their stay at Mariners Cottage is exactly why we love hosting 🤍

W E E K E N D I N G | ☀️

What a mixture of weather we’ve had over the last couple of days
•
From a grey walk down to the buzzing .farmers.market to secure the goods 🫶🏼 to an even damper walk back, then all change on Sunday with a beautiful walk over at our fave .burrows 🤍
•
It’s easy to see the negatives with all this wet weather (especially since it hasn’t stopped raining since..well..ever) however this is what makes the blue sky days those bit more special when they show up. It inspires us to get out, and give Ralphy the best walkies ever 🤍
•
