Tinto Hotel is a family run country house hotel located in the beautiful village of Symington, nr Biggar. Built in 1914 at the start of the First World War, the Hotel is full of olde world charm and authenticity. Conveniently located approximately 40 minutes drive away from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, this unique hotel offers a modern function suite and top quality catering set amidst stunning country hotel gardens and an historical setting.

From communication hub to photo-worthy history hub at Tinto Hotel! 📞✨

Take a look at the incredible glow up of our historic telephone box!
Long before mobile phones or in-room hotel phones, this little box was the go-to spot for guests to connect with the outside world. Latterly, it took on a slightly less glamorous role—as our trusty vacuum cleaner storage space! 🧹

But it has finally received a much-deserved refresh. We’ve transformed it into a fun feature where you can step inside, listen to a little bit of our hotel’s history, and snap the perfect memory.

On Saturday 12th December, Tinto Hotel becomes the scene of a very Christmassy crime as Murder & Mince Pies comes to Symington.

Santa has lost his “Ho, Ho, Ho”, the mince pies have vanished and someone appears determined to ruin Christmas. It’s up to you and your fellow detectives to follow the clues, interrogate the suspects and uncover the culprit—all while enjoying a delicious meal and plenty of festive laughs.
