🎉 New Owners at The Kirkstyle Hotel 🎉

Today marks an exciting new chapter for The Kirkstyle Hotel as Michael and Robert Allen of The Elphinstone Hotel officially received the keys to their new venture.

We are delighted to take forward and look after this high-quality, well-established, and highly successful business. Our focus will be on maintaining the excellent standards that guests have come to expect while continuing to build on the hotel’s strong reputation.

We are pleased to confirm that the business will continue as normal, with all current and future bookings being looked after by the fantastic team we have inherited. Their experience, dedication, and commitment to exceptional hospitality will ensure a seamless transition for our valued guests.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Benny, Cathy and Eddie Corr for all their help and support throughout the handover process. Their professionalism and guidance have made for a very smooth transition, and we wish them every happiness and success in their well-earned “retirement.”

We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to The Kirkstyle Hotel and being part of the local community for many years to come.

Tonight’s Biggar Science Festival science cafe has a presentation on the James Webb telescope.

The Kirkstyle Hotel is currently recruiting for various job roles:
- Breakfast Cook (part time, permanent, 10 - 25 hours per week)
- Housekeeper (part time, permanent, 5 - 20 hours per week)
- Seasonal Housekeeping (over 16 years of age, part time, varied)

These job roles are also available as a combined role, for example - Breakfast Cook and Housekeeper can be combined for additional hours.

Breakfast Cook
(permanent, part time – 15-20 hours)

Duties & Responsibilities:-
• Preparing, cooking and serving breakfast items.
• Daily Kitchen cleaning, as well as additional cleaning jobs as per the cleaning schedule.
• Completing all relevant paperwork.
• Adhering to Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.

Skills & Qualities:-
• Team player, enthusiastic and motivated.
• Excellent time management & planning.
• Good communication.
• High standards of personal hygiene and presentation.

Desirable:-
• Experience working in a hospitality environment (not essential as training will be given).
• Food Hygiene Level 2 (not essential as successful candidate will receive online module).

There is the opportunity to combine the breakfast cook role with another role for additional hours, for example, housekeeping/reception.
