University of Birmingham Lodge 5628 welcome to the University of Birmingham lodge FB page. The University of Birmingham Lodge was founded on the 31st of October 1936 in Birmingham’s Town Hall.

The Lodge being a University lodge and affiliated with Birmingham University, was founded by the great and the good of the University. Among its founding members were 6 Governors, 6 Council members, 10 members of staff, 10 Graduates and a further 2 Honorary Graduates. Meetings of the lodge were originally held at the University itself, until it was later decided to move premises in the late 60s. B

ut our presence can still be seen at the University in the Great Hall, in the form of Masonic chairs still used by the heads of the University. Today we meet, at Severn Street Masonic Hall, located next to the Mail Box. The Hall itself having a long history with freemasonry in Birmingham from the start. So if your a Student, Graduate, Member of Staff etc. from any of Birmingham's many universities, feel free to get in contacts, as you will be following in the footsteps of many prodigious members.
