A reminder that the first of two Ness of Brodgar Open Days is on this Sunday, 14 July, and you can enjoy tours and demonstrations on site, plus activities and SCA's fantastic cafe selling hot and cold food and drinks and homebakes!

Cafe profits on 14 July will be split between Stenness Community Association and the Stenness Outdoor Community Space project.

Come along any time between 11am and 4pm and you're sure to get something tasty to eat at the Stenness Hall, while you enjoy the activities and displays too.

We have been very lucky with weather here in Orkney recently and our latest guests at Adam Cottage have been making the most of it.

It was lovely to welcome back returning guests Graham & Carol and their bearded collie, Storm (isn’t he gorgeous!).

We are pet friendly by request so if you want to share your holiday with your four legged friend have a look at our facilities.

Another fantastic attraction to visit in the West Mainland!

We are delighted to announce that the Barony Mill will soon be re-opening for the summer.

From Monday 29 April, Barony Mill will be open to the public offering guided tours of Orkney’s only remaining working water mill. The tours are a chance for visitors to learn more about the history of bere and the traditional methods we use to milling our flour.

The Barony Mill will be open for tours seven days a week from 11am until the last tour at 4.15pm. Tours last approximately 30 minutes and are suitable for all ages, but please be advised you will need to climb some stairs to reach the upper floors. Tours cost £5 for adults, with children admitted for free.

We also have a shop onsite where we sell beremeal flour and products made with beremeal, as well as other souvenirs.

Visitors can drop in if they are passing, but we do recommend you book a place on a tour to avoid disappointment. You can book a tour by telephoning the Mill on (01856) 721 439, or at the Mill shop.
