SWITCH-ON NEXT WEEK 💡✨

Can you believe it? We’re just one week away from the big night when the famous Blackpool Illuminations light up the Promenade once again!

This year’s Switch-On celebration is set to be a fantastic evening of live music and entertainment.

Olly Murs will take to the stage in an enclosed arena for a special one-hour set before flicking the switch to launch the Illuminations season.

He’ll be joined by Toploader, X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, and the brilliant Blackpool Introduces showcase, shining a spotlight on some of the best local talent.

Didn’t get tickets? Don’t worry, you won’t miss out! A big screen will be set up on the Promenade near Central Pier, so you can watch all the live action and join in the countdown as the lights come on. Plus, look out for firework bursts from the Tower; the atmosphere along the Prom is always amazing!

VE DAY 80 ANNOUNCEMENT 🇬🇧

We are delighted to announce that a series of free events will take place as Blackpool joins the rest of the nation to celebrate the anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8 May 2025.

Here’s what’s happening:

🇬🇧 8.45am - 9am – Flag raising ceremony at the Town Hall, Talbot Square.

🇬🇧 11am - Ceremony of reflection at the Fylde Arboretum and Memorial Garden, Moor Park Avenue

🇬🇧 7.30pm – 9.30pm - VE Day 80 celebration event hosted by Hayley Kay on Tower Festival Headland, Blackpool Promenade.

Performances from Dad’s Army Band and George Formby tribute. Singer Beverley Alexander will lead a communal rendition of I Vow to Thee My Country.

🇬🇧 9.30pm – Beacon lighting ceremony as the famous Blackpool Tower lights up in red, white and blue.
