Can you believe it? We’re just one week away from Blackpool's biggest night when the famous Illuminations turn on.

Taking place on Friday 4 September, this year’s Switch-On celebration will see pop favourites Five headlining, joined by The Feeling and Lucy Spraggan. We also have BBC Introducing, shining a spotlight on some of the best local talent.

TRAVEL
Switch-On night is one of the busiest evenings of the year in Blackpool, so please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey. You can find a full list of car parks here: www.blackpool.gov.uk/CarParks

As lots of you know, we really care about the environment, reusing products & recycling. We were lucky enough to be invited to Ecotown to see everything first hand, it was so impressive to see how much is used again.

A massive thank you to Milena from Enveco Blackpool for inviting us and to our guide Lauren at Ecotown, it was so informative and interesting.

We had a lovely afternoon watching the House of Ska NW at the bandstand, we loved the songs from Madness, The Specials, and Bad Manners thank you to Friends of Stanley Park - Blackpool, we also couldn't help but admire the beautiful pink car in the background, maybe a Buick Special? Does anyone know what it is?

Lots of you are visiting us and Blackpool Zoo in the next few weeks along with family under the age of 16, well there is a Blackpool Transport Services Ltd bus (trams aren't free for under 16 year olds) just at the end of the road and under 16's are free on the bus through out the summer holidays.

A ticket for 2 adults with unlimited bus and tram travel is only £10 for the day, or for 2 adults and 3 children it is £15.

Tickets can be bought on the bus or tram.

We like to help everyone save money where possible!
