Proclamation Ceremony | St John's Square, Blackpool - Sunday 11 September, 3pm
Today, Blackpool will formally mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and accession of King Charles III with a proclamation ceremony at 3pm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It will take place in St John’s Square and coincide with similar ceremonies in towns and cities across the country, following on from yesterday's national proclamation event at St James's Palace, London.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The short event gives an opportunity for the community to come together and will include words from the Mayor of Blackpool, Cllr Kathryn Benson.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everyone is welcome to attend, and floral tributes may be left in the designated area in front of St John’s Church - please remove any plastic wrapping before laying.
